Excellent Leather
This 1791 steerhide holster is an excellent product. I have a considerable number of leather holsters for a variety of pistols, many priced at one to two-hundred dollars more! None have anything on this holster. It is a handsome, well done, quality item that far exceeds its price.I needed a new holster for a recently purchased Ruger GP100 revolver. I decided to give the 1791 a chance, based mainly on the mostly positive reviews. That choice turned out to be a sound decision, as I could not be more pleased with it. It is stiff, just as other reviewers have mentioned, and will take some work and patience to get it properly functional. I have a lot of experience with leather holsters, so I simply placed the revolver inside the plastic bag that housed it, then pushed it all inside the holster and let it form and slightly expand for a couple of days. This process should be done with an unloaded firearm due to the fact that a lot of pushing and pulling of the revolver will be needed in order to sufficiently "work" the holster to a suitable manner of draw stroke for said firearm. After a few days of repeated drawing and storage inside of the plastic, the holster should be supple enough for use. If not, continue the process for a few more days. Time and repetition will ultimately break it in nicely.

This is a very well-made holster
I don't do a lot of reviews, really only when I feel strongly about a product. In this case, this is a holster for a K/L frame S&W revolver, but I have been using it for a 2019 Colt King Cobra 3".First off, the quality is very good. The leather is appropriately stiff, but is relatively soft on the inside to protect the firearm. It fits very well on me and is very comfortable to wear. Everything from the reinforcement of critical parts to the stitching is quality, the same quality I expect from custom holster manufacturers at a higher price. It's even downright pretty to look at. It is a little loose on my pistol because mine is smaller than the S&W the holster is designed for, but that's not the holster's fault. When I put a Model 19 into it, it fit like a glove.Overall, I don't make a lot of product recommendations, but these guys are making a quality product at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

What an EXCELLENT holster!
This holster is BEAUTIFULLY crafted, very finely finished leather that feels like a quality piece of kit in the hand. It fits tight at first, breaks in beautifully with time and a bit of use. Remains tight enough to have good retention, but an easy draw with proper form and purchase on the grip of your OG fidget spinner. Love it, can’t say enough good about it, especially for the price. If your wireless hole puncher is of the correct frame size to fit this holster, buy it. You won’t regret it.

Very nice holster. Well built, took a few days to get it broke in, after that, its easy to holster the gun.

Great Leather Holsters
1791 is a high quality leather holster manufacturer. This design fit my S&W model 64 like a glove. Fit and finish are excellent with no break in. I highly recommend!

Good, tight fit 5 stars!
As a leather worker, I could not make this for anywhere close to this price! Tight the first time you slide it in! Then a little work, and it's perfect! Really nice, rugged, handsome holster!

Sturdy
Though very good quality, the front sight really grabs in the holster and scratches the front sight. Still working on stretching the holster to make it work properly. I wish there was a way to make a channel for the front sight to keep it from holding the weapon in so tight.

Best holster for your firearms - especially heavy full size ones
Let's start that I a fan of 1791 products. This holster was designed for a Ruger GP 100 which is very similar to the older Ruger Security Six 357. The GP has a full lug barrel while the Security Six is only 1/2 lug. The grips are different but the body of firearms are both 6 shot 357 revolvers. All 1791 holsters need a period to break in - they give you great instructions on how to do this. I put he Security Six in this new holster and it is perfect fit. The Security Six has a higher front blade sight - no problem with this holster. Fit and quality are great in 1791's. I have one for a 1911 with twin mag holder it holds a big heavy gun high and tight to you body. With the 357 it is held high and tight. If you conceal carry at 4:00 o'clock under a vest or jacket this would make a rather large firearm disappear and you would have fire power of a 357 Mag. Retention is great not going to fall out and can be drawn quickly.I purchased the Security Six in the early1970's after the USMC it has been accurate (better than me)reliable for almost 50 years IT DESERVES A NICE GREAT 1791 HOLSTER. A heavy firearm need strong supporting holster to carry easily and in comfort - concealed or open. I can not say enough about how great these holsters are for full size firearms.
