Milwaukee2780-20 M18 Fuel 4-1/2"/5" Pad, Bare

I have a ton of m18 and m18 fuel tools and a bunch of batteries so i bought this as a bare tool.The good: Better than expected power. it has enough power to remove metal pretty quickly although not quite as fast as my 4 inch dewalts with a cord but, thats to be expected. The brake feature works well and stops the wheel in a couple seconds or less. The tool is comfortable in the hand and vibrates very little. It also has a look and feel of being well made which i have come to expect from Milwaukee tools.The bad: it eats batteries even faster than expected. It will drain a 5 amp hour battery in maybe 10 minutes of near continuous use. I dont consider this to be milwaukee's fault, rather just the nature of this type of too but i do think it is important to know before you buy. Also the brake makes a weird noise that sounds like a problem with the gears. I have decided that there is no problem and its just the way it sounds so, not really a bad thing if im correct.Overall, its a good tool and could come in handy for small jobs away form power of if you just dont feel like dragging out a cord. However, dont buy it thinking your going to do a lot of grinding at a time unless you have a lot of batteries.

I've used a lot of angle grinders, and i'm shocked at how easy this one is to control. generally when you turn them on there's so much torque that it feels like it's ready to explode into a painful injury. The Milwaukee spins up quick and smooth and does so really quietly. the noise level is loud but bearable, again much quieter than the cheaper discount tool store grinders. lastly the break feature is actually my favorite part, about a second after you let off it slows the disc down pretty quickly.Milwaukee nails it again... great tool!

This is a nice grinder. I use it mostly with cut off wheels. Use the 5" and it handles the job great. Wish the gaurd was a little bit easier to see around.

Great grinder if you like paddle switch style grinders. I didn’t realize till using this unit that I hate paddle switch grinders. My biggest gripe is there is no provision to lock the switch in the on position. Some cuts require you to choke up on the grinder body to get extra dexterity. With this, that’s not really an option. I’ll keep it in the collection for wire wheeling and broad stroke operations, but I’ll also be getting one with the slide switch for cutting and detail work.

Has always loved my Milwaukee tools. They’re all I buy. The battery life is big seller along with their durability
