Original S.W.A.T.Men's Metro Air 9-Inch Side-Zip Tactical Boot

I get one about every year, to year and a half. This is pretty much the only thing I wear. The break in period is not complete fpr me, and we are running about the fourth day of wear.However, the break in period, is not too uncomfortable, there are just some minor pinch points.The comfort is great, and if you pair this with one of those 50ish dollar Dr. Scholls orthotics (the ones you have to step on the pressure sensor in the store). You will have by far, the most amazing boot, you have ever worn.___________________Revision as of 09/21/14 - I abandoned on these particular ones a while ago - this is due to the fact that I walk really weird, and found I wasn't as comfortable in these, as in their standard side zip line, they were great in the beginning just not as good in the endurance level as other Original SWAT boots. However I firmly believe this is due to my particularly poor stance and walking, and nothing to do with the boot itself.

Was ok but laces split and not a comfortable fit. .

I work as an electrician doing mostly remodel work, which means I'm in spooky attics and disgusting crawl spaces almost daily. I go through boots and shoes like crazy. I decided to give these boots a try not really knowing what I'd get, and man am I happy with them. They're super comfy right out of the box, I had NO break-in period (no blisters, yay!) and after several months of daily use, they're holding up nicely. I was afraid that being so soft would mean the leather would fail quickly, but this has not been the case. They're surprisingly tough. The hard/flexible sole lets me go up and down ladders all day with zero pain, and the zipper is just plain awesome. I suspect these boots will last me at least a year, which for the price, is a good deal in my book.

I like the boots they are very comfortable, however I don't don't know if it's just the pair I got but they are not built to last. In less than 4 months with light use the stitching is coming apart.

10/26/16 - purchased these based on a recommendation from a co-worker. I have never owned "Original SWAT" before.Initial thoughts - very light and comfortable. Materials dont appear to be as heavy as my 8" Bates that they replaced ( I hope that doesn't mean reduced durability) . They feel like putting on a good pair of sneakers and don't require any break-in period. They do take polish very good and will "mirror gloss" with a little elbow grease.When I say they are roomy, they are very roomy. I where a size 12 wide, I ordered a 12 regular. The area across the toes has more than enough room and plenty of height. If I tighten them down, the material across the toes bunch up. I generally wear a thick socks which will make up some of the difference. I could have easily went with a full size smaller.I will post an updated review after some wear time. I subtracted one star for the difference in size.

Right out of the box these are the most comfortable duty boots I've put on my feet in probably my entire 25 years of wearing a uniform. I'm a bigger guy at 6'4 and 300 pounds and work in corrections in an on my feet all the time kind of job. These felt like walking on soft rubber all night long with no break in time. Like wearing a good running shoe crossed with the design of a duty boot. If they hold up (just got them a couple days ago) and stay this comfortable for more than six months to a year I can't see changing brands again in my career.

I bought a pair of these boots less than a year ago and the heels are already starting to falloff. And the boots are dedefinitely not waterproof. They are comfortable boots, but they just aren't very durable.

Great boot! I’m very picky and have gone through a lot of pairs over the years. These boots have exceeded my expectations so far! Super comfy, durable, and digging the rugged look! Highly recommend. I put these on the same level as my Solomon’s.
