Sunbeam Hot-2-Trot Travel Steam Iron, 800 Watt Dual Voltage 120/240, Compact Size, Portable, Non-Stick Soleplate, Soft Touch Handle, Horizontal or Vertical Use, White and Blue

Did a comparison of two different mini travel iron on my most wrinkles tee-shirt due to my indecisiveness and to test which one is the best to keep for long term. Since my parents do have a bigger heavier steam/dry iron with lots of buttons; I just want one that is simple, ready to go, that I can keep in my room, and bring on vaca or trips. I did try my best to iron both sides the same amount of time and the same amount of fastness that I did on each side. By no means, am I bias over the other any of these irons, this is my honest first impression review and experience with these irons performance.As you see in the pictures that I’ve provided, the EnzZone dry iron does get most wrinkles out (right side of tee-shirt) but not all; even though I put it to the highest heat setting. I did notice I would have to go back to some areas that still had some wrinkle marks and see if it would take those stubborn wrinkles out, which was a bit bothersome but I digress. The first thing I noticed about the EnzZone dry iron is it has a hot glue gun/plastic smell which is a bit alarming, the edges of the plate are not smooth and does get caught on to the material when ironing, the cord is stiff and a bit short like 4-5 foot long, it is a bit of a nuisance when turning it off since the heat dial is a bit stiff to turn and the detachable handle gets in the way of doing that. That being said you can burn yourself when trying to turn the heat dial off since the hot plate is close to the dial; I did almost burn myself trying to turn it off cuz of the handle being in the way and due to the stiffness.Yes, maybe I could’ve set it down (while it was still on the highest heat setting remind you) and taken off the handle and then turn it off but of course I couldn’t that, why would I want to do that and risk of burning something. Especially, when you’re in a rush; who wants to take their sweet time, sit down, take off the handle and turn the stiff heat dial off while the plate is still hot. To each their own if you don’t mind doing all that.Next, on the left side of the tee-shirt I tested out the Sunbeam that is a steam but can also be a dry iron if you don’t want steam on certain type of material clothing. I would like to note the Sunbeam did not have a glue gun/plastic smell or any type of odor smell, does have smooth edges so you’re able to iron your clothes fast with no worries, has a longer flexible cord (8 foot) compared to the EndzZone, the Sunbeam does not have a on or off button like the EnzZone iron but the tip does have a red light indicator, that lights up every few minutes letting you know it’s on and still hot and producing heat.Of course, in the picture you can see the Sunbeam did a fantastic job getting rid of those stubborn wrinkles out. I did turn the dial to the highest heat setting and did a dry iron test on the left half bottom side of the shirt and then on the top left half side I did a bit of steam to see if the steam worked and it did. I did notice the Sunbeam plate was hotter and producing more heat compare to the EnzZone plate; even though both were put at the highest heat settings. Adding on to the list the Sunbeam’s handle is comfortable to hold, grip and you won’t have any trouble burning yourself when turning the heat dial down.The final ending results were amazing compared side by side as seen in the picture when I held the tee-shirt up you can automatically tell the right side (EnzZone) still had those stubborn wrinkles, even though I did go back a few times over them on the highest heat setting. For the left side (Sunbeam) I in fact DID NOT have to go back and get rid of those stubborn wrinkles!Overall, I’ll say the Sunbeam is a win for me💗!! I’ll admit, I do like how compact, skinny, detectable the handle is on the EnzZone but the Sunbeam had more benefits in the long run for me. For example, the Sunbeam iron produced more heat, has a steam feature off and on if needed, and has less risk of burning yourself when touching the heat dial setting. If you hate ironing, I still recommend you at least give it a try with sewing, it helps SOOOOO much and will change your mind about it. Having a very cute little iron like this also helps.I don't have a dedicated sewing area or even table. I use my desk with my computer, so space is a premium. I had been using my house iron, the standard size, which worked, but was heavy and took up a lot of space. Also awkward with small bits.If you don't want to buy distilled water and store it just for the iron, just get a little spray bottle and keep with your iron to spray the fabric (or buy the spray heads and put on an empty isoproply alcohol/hydrogen peroxide bottle. The equate brand is the standard screw type and fits the heads you can buy here)After looking at lists and reddit posts, I went with this little guy.So cute, fits nicely in my IKEA cart I use for most of my sewing stuff. Takes up very little space but heats up fast and is great for seams or smoothing out small bits of fabric.I do wish it had a stainless steel foot plate/sole/thingy and auto shut off. (Not a fan of non-stick in general due to PFAS, but I am on a budget so. Compromise.)However, most people like that it doesn't have an auto shutoff as that can be annoying when quilting. I just like it in case I'm forgetful, but have been diligent to just unplug it when in use.I bought a 4 ft long power-strip from Harbour Freight that spaces out the outlets, and it sits on my desk near the edge. This is very convenient for phone chargers, lights, tea kettle, AND the iron, as I don't have to bend down or crawl around to unplug it. This also helps keep the cord up so my dogs don't knock it down.I also have some cable clips that I stuck under my desk to help hold up the cords of my machine and iron. I feel this is a must if you have dogs who like to hang out under your desk, and they only cost a few bucks. I leave my cords for my machines under my desk all the time, and tuck the pedal into a little basket on the side. Convenient and out of the way.

I purchased this small iron to use with steam, for close corners and details on clothing, especially where I need the hem to stay flat and in place. I followed all the instructions and found only one issue, which is easily fixed. In my experience, if I fill with water, to the line recommended as shown on the product, it still leaks all over the place, whether I hold it upright or down on the fabric. So, I have decided in the future to fill it only half full, and then add water if I should need it for steam. Thank You!

I keep my mini iron and a thick felt ironing pad next to my sewing machine while I am working on piecing quilt blocks. It's convenient. It has a heel stand and an automatic shutoff, but I prefer to pair it with a silicone iron rest. It's also the perfect size to take to quilt retreats.

This iron is so small and lightweight that I had my doubts about it working, but it definitely does. Even when not using the steam feature it gets the wrinkles out and I love all the fabric settings. I’m getting ready to take it on a trip. It will be super easy to pack and come in so handy for ironing out packing wrinkles from clothes.

Exactly what I wanted! So lightweight and so easy to use! Heats up quickly and is very efficient!
