Nice sights
Great contrast to them. Makes it easier to pick up target. You will have to take them to a gunsmith to have installed.

Way Better Than Stock Iron Sigths
I was very impressed with the TFOs on my Glock 21SF, so I did not hesitated and got a set for my stainless steel RIA 1911 EFS which came stock with plain iron sights, no guide dots at all. Now with these TFOs installed, I can acquire my sight picture quicker on both bright daylight as well as in very low light condition and it did improved my accuracy as well. The brightness of the night sights were sufficient enough for me, more glow would be welcome though. Installation was straight forward, no modification necessary on my slide. I am seriously considering swapping my other 1911s to these TFO or TFX when the tritium sights on those fizzles out.

Good sights
I’ve never had a problem with this brand. Works well and in almost zero illumination from ambient light. First time using the fiber optic that also has tritium for low light. I really like it. Especially the front sight a different color. Much better that way.

Good sights, but not a drop-in fitment.
I own a RIA 1911 tactical that came with low profile Novak style combat sights. All black is not the way to go when you don't have plenty of shooting light, so I bought these to replace the factory sights. Not sure about other manufacturers 1911's but it took me 4-1/2 hours to complete the swap, even though I utilized a Sight-Tool sight pusher (which works well BTW). These sights are way oversized for the dovetail they fit into. (good to know ahead of time) I ended up honing almost 0.010 off the bottom of the front sight dovetail, as well as doing some tricky narrowing of the slightly curved side of the dovetail on the front sight. A standard front dovetail is 5/16" (0.312) at the base and this sight was 0.330" at its widest point. Lots of honing, then blackening with a sharpie, then fitting, then more honing until I was able to push it on. You want to be able to slide it in roughly 1/3 of the way before pushing or drifting it the rest of the way. The rear sight required much of the same work, but went a little faster, so either take your time, or take it to a gunsmith. That said, these are nice bright sights. Easy to line up, and the tritium takes over when the light is low or next to non-existent. I think I'll like them, but they were a pain to fit. The front sight is understandable, but the rear didn't have to be so snug. Is has a set screw after all.

RockIsland Armory Install Notes for 1911 5in Barrel
First if you're buying this. I would highly recommend Doing research on your pistol. Going to Rock Island websites and seeing your specs. Depending on what model you have dictates what sights you need. Mine was a A1-FS model Standard 5in barrel those who have this model get the 270/500 sights. However saying this you're gonna have to fit the sights with some minor machining Rockisland specs on my model are Novac but being a cheaper grade pistol some polishing/ filing is in order for your new sights to fit. Polish the sight notches on the slide using 800-1000-2000 grit sand paper. After test the fit of the sights and file slowly on the sights to be able to fit in the notches. You will also need brass punches and a hammer to remove old sights. On mine the rear sight came off like butter the front however is a pain. I would recommend a sight pusher but if you're doing it on the cheap brass punch and some time with wd40 will get the trick done. I had to take mine to a gun shop to get the front sight off cheaper than buying the pusher. 5$ and I was off to put my new sights on. When installed polish your notches sanding slowly on the slide after its nice and smooth spray a little WD40 oil to help with install then start your fitting remember you're just trying to get these sights to fit snuggly in your slide. Too much filing will cause your sights to fly off during testing. Insert the sight after some minor filing it should go in about 1/2 of the way with no fuss. After you achieve this drive the sights in using a punch and a hammer. On the rear sight use blue locktight on the set screw after centering the sight on the slide the front put a little red locktight on the front sight base then slowly drive in till centered. After take it to a range to make sure its sighted in and adjust sights accordingly. Remember slow and steady wins the race.
