Polly's Full Length Hardwood Bird Perch, 30-Inch, Brown (50804)

I originally asked about length of this product, was concerned about difference in description (see the q and a). But I took a chance and ordered it anyway, very glad I did. This branch is sturdy, clean, nice to look at. It runs the entire length of my three foot cage and cockatiels are very comfortable sitting on it or just using it as a fast track across the cage. Diameter is good for both my birds, one small and one large. They don't perch on it much but I didn't buy it for that. One "warning"- the branch is not straight (that's where the confusion about length comes in) so it is technically several inches longer than 36". Getting it in to cage I had to see saw it into place as it doesn't bend of course. It is right where I needed it to be though I can see how it can be tricky to install if you have to have it in exactly one spot. Mine is sitting at app. 14" high and 6 to 18" deep, it is that "curvy". It's very solid, a real hard wood branch, well made and good hardware. Would buy again but looks like it's going to last Avery long time. I disenfect it with GSE every other day. Love it, well worth the money.

I was looking for a replacement perch for my Cockatoo. This one is very sturdy and the diameter is just right for her talons. These are very expensive in the pet stores if you can even find them in the size you need. It came with NON ZINC washers which added to my happiness and my bird lives it. She loves to run her beaks on it and it doesn't really show much wear. I would HIGHLY recommend this for your medium or larger bird.

The perch was slightly longer than 24” but is exactly what I needed. It’s at least 1” round also. The perch has threads, 2 washers and a wing nut on each end. The washers are barely big enough to span my parrot’s cage wide bars so I just replaced them with inexpensive larger washers. I cut the perch in half to use it as 2 smaller perches.

While the length of this was perfect for my cage, the diameter of the stick is WAY too big for me little Pineapple Green Cheek. It didn't look as think on the pic, and I somehow missed the last page of the dimensions.Other than that, if you have a bigger bird, this will be perfect for them!

I needed to replace a large perch to span the width of a 24" Avian Adventures cage and couldn't be more delighted with the Polly's Full-Length 24-Inch Hardwood, Bird Perch.I'm a persnickety parront and very choosy about my fid's (feathered kids) parches.It needs to be bird-safe, comfortable for their feet and have natural bends while being easy to clean.This natural wood perch is about 1 1/2" diameter with a nice bend and fits my 24" wide Avian Adventures "Vista" double cage with 1/2 bar spacing.The end washers are a generous 2 3/4" in diameter to accommodate 1" - 1 1/2" bar spacing and adds stability to narrower 1/2" bar spacing.The cuts on end are perfectly angled, and the quality of the perch is nothing short of outstanding. I first purchased this product in 2020. It was sturdy, covered with bark, about 1-1/2 thick, relatively straight. It lasted almost 2 years before my grey had chewed through it. I felt it was a good value and ordered a new one in late June 2022. When it arrived, it had no bark, was very thin and crooked, very soft wood, and hard to fit into bars of cage. In 5 weeks it already needs to be replaced before in breaks. Cost was $21.29 + tax, so a very poor value. Not pleased at all. Waste of money.

I purchased 2 of these for my CAG’s new outdoor cage. I have to say they are probably the best natural perches I have purchased for him. Others I have purchased were splintered and had to be smoothed down or were too small or just not quite as described. These exactly were as described and fit right into his cage. Very pleased!

This appears to be wood from the tree Lyonia ferruginea, for which dragonwood is a common name. Other common names are "rusty lyonia" and "rusty staggerbush". This wood is native to the southeast United States, particularly Florida.This perch fits my 36" wide cage. Curvature may vary, from what other reviewers have said, but the perch will fit a 36" spread. Mine is curved slightly, and isn't a problem. I had to get this for my lovebirds, as one of them is a chewer and has already destroyed a soft wood perch, and chews up the rope perches and ingests the threads (which can kill them). So I needed a long perch for their big cage. My female lovebird enjoys chewing the unusual bark on this perch. The harder wood underneath is going to take a lot longer for her to annihilate.
