Great product!
I occasionally use liquid melatonin, especially when traveling abroad, and it works wonders! It’s incredibly convenient to adjust the dose depending on how much I need, and it kicks in quickly—usually within 20-30 minutes. It’s a lifesaver for combating jet lag and resetting my sleep schedule in a new time zone. I also appreciate the portability of the bottle, making it easy to pack when I’m on the go. The taste is pleasant and not overpowering, and it leaves me feeling well-rested without any grogginess the next day. Highly recommend it for occasional use and travel!

We have been using Melatonin at bedtime
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using the Maxi Health Chewable Melatonin in the Kosher Berry flavor for my kids at bedtime, and it’s been a game changer! Both of my children have ADHD, and falling asleep has always been a challenge. These 1mg chewables have really helped them wind down and get the rest they need. The berry flavor is great, and my kids actually enjoy taking them, which makes bedtime much easier. I also appreciate that they’re kosher and come in a chewable form, which is a nice alternative to melatonin gummies. Plus, they’re affordable, especially considering you get 100 in a bottle! If you’re looking for a natural aid to help with sleep, especially for kids with ADHD, I highly recommend these melatonin chewables!

Major Life Changer!!!!
I am 100% sold on this product, despite initially being leery and a little hesitant about giving this to our 5 year old daughter (who is basically like the Energizer Bunny, and can hang with the best of them!!!). I wasn’t even sure that she would agree to take the “medicine” to help her sleep. Anyway, fast forward, and she has been happily taking just the 1mg. dose of course, for the last 4 or 5 nights in a row now. Holy moly!!!!! This stuff really works!!! I would recommend giving it about 20 minutes or so before you want sleep time. If given too soon, which I had done for 2 nights, then our daughter got a little over tired and ended up having a meltdown when probably should have already been in bed and asleep. She gets tired very quickly after she takes it, so definitely needs to be ready to get into bed and read our bedtime stories at that point. She then falls off to sleep without any issue, and gets up on her own the very next day. No grogginess at all. She is basically out cold now by 9pm on the dot or earlier (I would love it to be more like 8:45 each night, but I will accept 9pm, as this is still better than before!), and she is still waking up on her own at her usual time which is anywhere from about 6:15-6:40am on average. I should mention that part of the problem (in my opinion) is that she still naps during the day in her pre-k class, and often during weekends too, especially when in the car. I think that if she consistently did not nap, then bedtime would be easier, and she would naturally be more tired at an earlier hour. For now though, I plan to continue giving her this Melatonin at night to help her settle down and fall asleep quickly. This is helpful for her to get more hours of sleep, and helpful for me, so that I can have more of my life back at night!***ADDENDUM*** I continue to be extremely pleased with this specific Melatonin product and brand name Mel-O-Chew. It continues to work so well for my daughter night after night, and she is so agreeable and willing to take it, which means it must taste pretty good too! I should have also mentioned that the reason I chose this specific brand is because a friend of mine swore by it, after having tried other brands (whether or online or at CVS). She said that this brand in particular, worked the best, and never created that “hangover” feeling in the morning. Like I said, my daughter is still waking up (happily) on her own each morning between about 6:15 and 6:40. Last night she was fast asleep by 8:50pm. This is miraculous!

Play with the dose! No need for it when your child is tired...
Our 4 year old daughter is being assessed by the Seattle Children's Hospital Autism Center. The screening includes very long interviews with the parents about the child's behavior. During one of these discussions sleep patterns came up. Our daughter has had difficulty sleeping since infancy. She takes a long time to get to sleep and wakes during the night. The nurse practitioner who has our case told us that recent research shows children who have Autism or Asperger's often do not producing enough melatonin. She recommended chewable melatonin (not specifically this brand) for our daughter. This is the first brand I tried and so far very good results. Our daughter does not mind taking the pills, so I guess the taste is OK.The tricky part is getting the right dose for your child, so here is my experience which you might find useful. The nurse practitioner recommended I try a 1mg dose with her, and then increase the dose if it seems to have no effect. So, I started with 1 mg, which seemed to have almost no effect. When I gave her 2mg, she got tired rather suddenly but not in a good way - more like the too tired meltdown, which made the whole bedtime routine worse. I tried the 2mg dose a couple of times to be sure - it turned out that it worked well on some days but not others. The trick was that it was too much melatonin on certain days of the week but not others. Here's why.One thing to note is your child's routine. For instance, my daughter is always more tired towards the end of the week. She is in half day daycare, which is very challenging socially, followed by a half day special education program, where they work very actively with her. Between the two environments, she is exhausted. For several years, the house rule has been to limit after-school activities, shopping, dining on Thursdays or Fridays because she is so tired (which means moody.) On those days when she is tired anyway, I don't even use the melatonin. The other days I use 2 mg and it works very well. I am hoping at some point she will be getting enough sleep earlier in the week that she won't be so tired towards the end of the week! I would like to experiment with 0.5 mg, but haven't gotten a pill cutter yet.Good luck with this product!-Karen Takatani
