Q: is this a satin black or matte black?

It's more a satin black than a matte. The rims on my sons race car are matte black, and you can definitely see a difference between the wheels and the satin black body. Hope this helps.

Q: Does this need to be applied with only heat? Or can it be applied with soap and water?

Soap and water help keep it from wrinkling and sticking to itself. Then use a squeegee and heat to remove the water out from underneath. That process worked great for me.

Q: is this vinyl sticky and can be applied with heat only?

I would not use heat to apply this. It has enough give to it when applying it to your surface. If you are having trouble applying vinyl look into buying Rapid Tac and spraying it on the surface once as it is cleaned and smoothed. This will make the vinyl more easy to apply, easy to remove air bubbles with a squeegee, and if you lay it on wrong give you enough time to move the vinyl without tearing it or damaging what you are applying it to.

Q: does it cover bumps well when wrapped?

Well, my car had no bumps when I wrapped it so i am not 100% sure. I mean its purpose is to cover the actual paint job you have. It was really hard to put on a clean car so I would imagine it almost impossible to wrap a car with dents or bumps. In your case, I would rather plastic dip the car. You can buy small plastic dip cans from Walmart
