I was looking for a simple thermometer to check outside temp in the morning. This works great, easy to install, looks good and doesn't cost a fortune. Exactly what I was looking for. It synced very quickly, has enough range to reach the outdoor unit without issue. No wires to run. I have had many expensive "weather stations" in the past and they all last about 1-2 years before needing to be replaced because the outside units just gave up. I am hoping with the simple design this one lasts longer, even if it lasts just as long it was 1/3 the price.

The transmitter signal was interrupted by minor things. I tried it in several locations and always had to be within 20 feet. For the house, a double pane window and curtain blocked the signal within 20 feet of the transmitter. It worked when I put the transmitter just outside the window, or put the receiver outside as well. I tried it in my camper and the walls of the camper blocked the signal. I tried it in the car, and the metal frame of the car blocked it. It worked if the transmitter was just outside the car window, sitting on the hood, but not if it was under the hood. It didn't work when it was in the refrigerator. I couldn't find a good place to use it unless the transmitter was closer than I desired. I did like the big screen, the design, the ease of reading the display.

This is my second Baldr Thermometer I have purchased. With the first one, I dropped the remote sensor and broke it, but it worked flawlessly for 2 years. I hope the new one lasts just as long... or longer without my clumsiness.

Nice design. Easy to use. But it’s confusing. Sometimes the temp shows 70 degrees when I know it’s in the 40s as an example.I will be purchasing a different one soon.

I bought 8 of these for gifts. Three of the 8 have stopped working. The first one needed a battery change after about 1 year, which was fine, except it never restarted again after the new batteries were installed in both the sending and receiving units. I wrote an email to Baldr but never received a response. The second unit that failed just quit. I purchased a replacement. The third unit that failed was a repeat of the first - could not recover from battery change. Thinking that maybe I was doing something wrong, I wrote Baldr again. I received no response for the second time. The other five may have quit working as well I but I have not heard one way or the other. I'm done with Baldr. These plastic units with a little electronics are not worth the price especially when you have to replace them with every battery change. Also it is difficult to see from across the room. Buy something else!UPDATE: Please note that when I sent inquiries to Baldr I did not send the inquiry through Amazon. So the criticism for a lack of response was not warranted. So I updated the rating to 4 stars. They explained the procedure to replace the batteries. It took several tries and it eventually worked. The procedure is remove batteries from both units, wait a couple of minutes, inset batteries in the main unit, then replace the batteries in the sending unit. Wait a few minutes until the sending unit blinks red a couple of times.

I purchased this for my camper van so that I could see the temperature both inside and outside my van. I put the external unit inside my bumper, where it stuck instantly and has remained for months. As far as I can tell, both temperatures have been extremely accurate and I haven't had any problems with this device. One slightly odd design choice is that the external unit uses AAA batteries while the main unit uses AA batteries, so be sure you have batteries of both sizes on hand. That being said, I've had this this thing going for at least six months and haven't had to change the batteries out yet, so it barely sips any power to run it. I purchased this because the old one I owned had a screen that was impossible to read. This one's quite a bit better, although in dim lighting or direct sunlight it can still be a little difficult to see. Based on the price, quality, and performance, I would definitely recommend this. I'm about to purchase a second one for my workshop.

I used a small bunjee cord to strap the outdoor sensor to a metal brace underneath my motorhome (at the very front so as not to be affected by engine heat) and now I can read both the indoor and outdoor temperatures as we travel down the road. Temperatures seem to agree with the thermometer built into my car, so I'll give it a passing score on accuracy, at least as far as the outdoor temperatures go. I used Velcro to attach the indoor display to an overhead cabinet, and the letters are big enough that it's easily read from the driver/passenger seats or anywhere in the living room area.

I love the design with the size and stand. I am looking for a device that shows both indoor and outdoor temperatures but unfortunately this device is not making the grade. The indoor temperature shows perfectly, but the outdoor temperature will show for a short time, then disappear for many hours. I have tried watching the videos on how to reset, but it still does not work properly. I was excited for this to come now very disappointed that I now have to look for something else.
