FINALLY - a dual monitor solution that works (REVISED after Replacement)
03/14/2023Back to 5 stars. Replacement works as advertised------------------------------------------03/11/2023I've used the adapter now for exactly one month. Yes, it still works BUT it does not initially bring up the dual display. I have to unplug and re-plub the USB from the computer to get it running. I tried it using an external power source which initially worked fine, but now - same issue. Note that once it's up, it's stable with no blinking. Downgraded rating to 3 stars.------------------------------------------I have a Surface Pro 4 and an ASUS laptop that I needed to connect to two ASUS 27" monitors. I tried a myriad of solutions, mostly USB based. Some worked (marginally). The main issue I had was connecting monitors via USB would occasionally cause the computer to shut down. The j5create Mini DisplayPort to Dual 4K HDMI MST Adapter definitely solved the problem. Both monitors are solid and it only occupies a single port in my computers, the mini display port. You DO have to have the unit powered from USB which can come from your computer OR from a USB hub that's attached to it.I highly recommend.

Perfect Quality
Unsure why this product doesn’t have 5 stars but I’ve been using this product for over 2 months and I’ve had no issue. Great picture quality and technical issues. I have 2 additional monitors I have linked to my Surface laptop. I had a very hard time finding a product like this with no issues or retail store like Best Buy or Wal-Mart. Both stores had nothing like it except with USB-C plug.Overall, worth every penny!

Doesn’t work with Surfacebook 1
The item worked for some people, but it didn’t work for a surface book 1. I would have given it a better review if it at least extended to one monitor, but it didn’t. It would keep blinking and switching back to my laptop rapidly. When I plugged it into two monitors it extend the display but the same issue, but worse because it wouldn’t even take any of my mouse or keyboard inputs. I would have to unplug it to revert back to my laptop. I figured it might work because it said it worded for surface products, but no luck.

Great!!!
Great price, arrived quickly, and works perfectly. Plug in and go.

It works as it is supposed to
I think the display cord could be about 3 inches longer, it actually hangs off the side of my surface pro instead of laying on table.

Worked great
Bought this for my gaming laptop for more screens. It didn’t work for my laptop but works great for my brother.

It works, but screens flicker sometimes (fix: keep resetting until it doesn't flicker anymore)
I use this device to make a triple display set with my laptop. When it boots up properly, I was successfully able to turn my laptop into a triple monitor setup. The quality of the extended displays is great and I don't suffer from any sort of input lag. I have not downgraded from three monitors since then. Though, that's where the good part ends for me.The biggest flaw with this is that sometimes the screens turn off and on. This is a problem I have to deal with every time I start up my laptop. Sometimes it would be one or both of my extended monitors, and that's beyond my control. To fix this, I have to reset the device by unplugging and plugging the device back in or turning the power on or off since it is powered using a USB slot.I was also unable to hook two VGA monitors to make a triple monitor setup. I was so close to returning the product at that point, but I solved this by replacing one of my VGA monitors with an HDMI monitor. One important thing I should mention is that it requires a USB slot to power on the device. So make sure you have a spare USB slot to power up the device or you can't duplicate or extend your monitors.Bottom line, it does work, but the extended monitors sometimes turn on and off. If that happens, just keep resetting the DisplayPort device until the flickering stops. if you can get past that headache, then this product is a still decent buy.
