Very good daytime binoculars for this price range.
Good optics quality considering the light weight and the light price range. A traditional 6x30 porro cannot go wrong. Little shy of 500 grams, I can take them out on a stroll without thinking about weight issues. Friendly to all binocular users with or without glasses. I still have to note that for glass users, stray light that goes through the eyepiece can be an issue. (As are ALL binoculars for all eyeglass wearers.)The FOV is on the lower side, but the contrast and the sharpness are great for the price range. I guess the diopter arrangements supports +-3 diopters at the most.(or +-2.5 at the least) The central focus knob is well lubricated and handles beautifully. The only noticeable drawback is the not-perfect light reflection treatment inside the tubes, especially the bare metallic prism boxes inside. This can be an issue when facing strong sunlight or light sources near your objective lens as internal reflection and glare somehow messes the experience at night. A truly missed opportunity that could have made for a better binoculars if a little more care was taken inside the tubes.Nonetheless, this is an excellent daytime binocular for mobile activities like bird watching. For those who couldn't get too close, I suppose 8 magnification can be a better solution.

Very clear and bright
These are very good binoculars. Super clear and bright. Not huge magnification but they let in so much light that everything is super sharp and clear. Best pair of binoculars I've ever used, no regrets.

Opticron Savanna 8x30 porro-prism binoculars: review by Dennis
I ordered my Opticron Savanna WP 8x30 binoculars on 11/16/16 and they arrived on the 18th. Everything in the retail box was well packaged and included the binoculars in the soft case, the straps for the case and the binoculars, a cleaning cloth and literature. The objective lens covers fit snugly but I would only use them in the case. The rainguard is flexible enough so it can be used without changing the IPD. The center focusing wheel worked smoothly and the diopter, though just a little stiff should stay where you put it. My first look through the Savannas was a pleasant experience. The field is wide but I noticed that I couldn't see the whole of it so I turned the eyecups a little less than halfway down and that helped. I did, however, have to move my eyes around to see all of the view. I would guess that this is due to the width of the field or possibly the long eye relief. Getting my eyes positioned properly took a little effort but the view was great once I did. (This isn't a complaint just an observation.) To my delight, the "sweet spot' was fairly generous remaining reasonably sharp with minimal blurring toward the edges. Also, I noticed no barreling or pincushioning. and the collimation was spot on. I was impressed by the brightness and the contrast of the image while the colors were rendered accurately. Depth of field is remarkable. Even when focused at infinity, objects, that I would guess to be about 40-ft. distant, were still in focus. As for chromatic aberration, I saw none though it may well be present under certain conditions. The build quality is excellent and , though the rubber armoring is smooth, it still provides a good grip. I also like the raised pads on the bottom of the binoculars just in front of the eyepieces. Balance is good and I had no trouble holding them steady. All-in -all, despite whatever faults they may have, I consider the Opticron Savanna WP 8x30 porro-prism binoculars to be a very good product. And, I won't even add "for the price".

Overall satisfied.
Sold by Amazon represented as "used like new". Received with One binocular cap missing (replaced with Vortex Diamondback 32mm caps). Focus mechanism is stiff with uneven wheel tension. For the price I paid, I still regard them as a very good value. Satisfied with the optical performance and the overall package for the price paid.

and IMO they are excellent binos for what they do
I have the Opticron Savanna R 8x33, and IMO they are excellent binos for what they do. They are compact, and because I wear eyeglasses, the fact that they have long "eye relief" makes them very usable without taking off my glasses. I was going to buy a second pair, but the 8x33 at firsthad the price increase by 20%, and then was unavailable. I do astronomy, and my other primary binos are Canon image stabilized which cost an order of magnitude more. I hope Opticron can ramp up production, and bring these back at the mid-level pricepoint at which they were. A greatdeal if priced right.

These work, but they just aren't as good as 8 x 42 binoculars.
If you are certain that 8 x 33 is the size you want, you will probably be happy with these.I wanted a pair that was lighter weight than my Bushnell NatureView 8 x 42 binoculars. I would be carrying a pair around Europe in my purse, so I really wanted something a little lighter. A family member carried the Bushnell pair.I did use these, but honestly, I wish I hadn't spent the money. This was a very large amount of money for me to spend on binoculars. When we were looking at stained glass windows in cathedrals, I used these. Then I switched to the Bushnell pair and, WOW, what a difference! Everything was so much better--clearer and brighter--with the Bushnell pair. That's when I really began regretting spending so much money on this Opticron pair. The same thing occurred when looking at birds. We ended up switching off using the Bushnell binoculars because they provide so much better views. These binoculars are just ok, but that's it. The lighter weight was not worth the price in the long run.
