Flymo Genuine Lawnmower Hover Vac Dual HV2800 Handle Pivot Pin

My Mum was unable to use her lawnmower as the pin was missing. It seems it must have came off when she used it last & she didn’t notice. Seems quite a common problem (when googling the problem). This has made the lawnmower usable again.

£7.10 for 1 plastic pivot pin, is extortionate, for a design fault, by design. I bought earlier this year a new Flymo hover vac mower, and I hadn't used it for even one minute, before was out and shredded by the motor. There should be spares with every machine sold, and moreover, these pivots should be made of metal. I am thinking of drilling a hole through a bolt, and pushing a split pin on the inside piece, to retain it in place. Do you know anyone who might be prepared to make one up, and sell them......
