Fun kit.
I bought this kit to build the USS Yorktown CVA10. Fun kit to build and fit together very well. Only negative is I wish there was more details included out of the box. With that said I did buy several after market parts for the model. The flight deck decals, island, AA guns etc.

Upgraded 1/500 USS TICONDEROGA!
A great revival of the classic Renwal kit. The added kit decals for the flight deck and aircraft breathe new life into this solid ki.

With gorilla glue and alot of patience, a great model can be built.
This is the Atlantis models reissue of the very old Renwal kit. The fit of the deck to the hull is very tricky. Careful fitting and trimming is necessary for this step. Otherwise the build is straightforward.

Terrible assembly
This product is simply terrible, I revived my package and went to assemble it just to find out NONE. of the pieces stick together the instructions did a TERRIBLE. job as explaining what goes where. I ended up using hot glue and the picture on the box to make the final product. As well the stickers were not stickers just laminated paper. genuinely my worst Amazon purchase.

Fantastic kit from the mid 60's..............
Okay. My first review of this kit was turned down probably because I mentioned what the kit originally cost back in 1965 when RENWAL reissued it in an updated version (That was over 50 years ago, why should it matter now? All kits manufactured back then and being reissued today cost much more. Does AMAZON need a list of the reissues and what I paid for them back then?). Anyway I built it back then and thoroughly enjoyed the fun of painting and applying the decals. Today. I would make some improvements to the ISLAND. Since the flight deck is all in raised panel lines, I would eliminate them, rescribe the deck and add some PE railing details. As it is out of the box for a first timer, have fun with it. This was a very famous ship back during the Korean and Vietnam wars. One of her sister ships was the Shangri-La.
