Great, disposable, PICC Line shower protection
I was hesitant about buying these after I read several reviews that spoke of how thin and easily torn the plastic was. Still, I needed something as wrapping my arm in plastic wrap with tape and rubber bands was a pain. The plastic is thin, but it is no where near as bad as some people claim. Its like plastic wrap... its thin, but you can handle it, tug on it a little. For what these are, DISPOSABLE protectors, it is what a reasonable person would expect in quality. Now, as for it being WATERPROOF, no, it isn't... If you let your shower blast onto it, especially the upper elastic, water can find its way in. I was instructed not to have my line exposed to the shower spray directly, covered, or otherwise. The wrap or these sleeves are just to HELP... If some water sprays off your body it will protect it. In response to some of the other questions and comments I saw while trying to decided on these: No you can NOT take a bath or submerge these, they will NOT keep the water out. If you take hot hot showers and long, I could easily see your sweat building up under these and staying in them, thus wetting your PICC Line. If you are careful with them, there is no reason you couldn't reuse a sleeve several times. Using rubber bands around both ends, especially the upper side, would DEFINITELY help prevent water from getting in. Just use some care, take your time, and these will work exactly as promised.

Works Great For A PICC Line
My mother had a PICC line for 6 weeks, and could not get it wet. These sleeves worked very well, allowing her to take showers while keeping the bandage around the PICC line dry. We did add a ring of bandage tape just to make sure to sealed well. Not sure if that was really needed!

A Vast Improvement Over Saran Wrap!
My son was diagnosed with an infection of the bone in his hand and required daily intravenous injections of antibiotics via a PICC line which was, of course, left in place throughout the duration of treatment. All the medical personnel connected with this treatment stressed the need to keep the PICC line site clean and dry--especially during showers. They recommended wrapping his arm with Saran wrap, but that was a farce; Shawn's arm was stiff, like a mummy. They also suggested bread sacks and plastic grocery bags, but everything leaked or was too much trouble to tape securely. I bought something called a Champion waterproof cast protector, but it also leaked. The whole thing was driving Shawn nuts, so I went online to see what I could find. I decided to go with the Shower Soc and it is much, MUCH more convenient than anything else he tried. They come in two sizes: Small and Large; to determine what size you need, check the product description for measurements. The aqua-colored package contains 25 Shower Socs; the blue package has 7. Shawn's only complaint was that these sleeves do not have tight-fitting elastic at either end to keep water out. After some experimenting he found his wife's hair ties did the job; water stays out, and his PICC line stays dry. Altogether, the Shower Socs are a vast improvement and so much more convenient than anything else he tried. If they had good, strong elastic cuffs I'd have given them a five-star rating, hands down. I nearly did, anyway, for the convenience factor alone.

Absolutely perfect for my PICC line
This product does exactly what its designed to do, allow me to take a shower with a PICC line, and does it well. Is this waterproof as some commenters complained? No, it is not, you cannot go SCUBA diving with this and expect your PICC line to stay dry. However, does it keep you PICC line dry while you take reasable shower; ABSOLUTELY! As to its durability, the description clearly says disposable, so no it will not last indefintely. But with a little care and letting it dry out between showers, I've been using each one for about 5 showers before the elastic becomes loose and some tears in the plastic.I highly recommend this product!

It worked great. Kept all but a tiny bit of water out.
Had a PICC line in the inside of my left biceps area. Here's how II used it. Tried plastic wrap and tape, but that leaked, and my wife had to wrap my arm before showering. I needed a way to keep the PICC line dry, shower and get to work on my own, so I tried this. It worked great. It is not 100% perfect, but it kept all but a tiny bit of moisture away from the bandages. You need to use common sense. To shower, I kept my left arm elevated on the top of the shower door and out of direct water most of the time. To wash the arm pit area, I kept the arm elevated, so the water ran down the protector and not into it (think of how shingles shed water). I carefully washed the shoulder area, and also kept the arm elevated while I ran that under the shower to rinse. Then, before lowering, I quickly took a washrag and soaked up the excess water on the shoulder. It took a little effort and planning and a bit more time, but it was better than 5 minutes of having my wife wrap and tape my arm with plastic wrap.

Convenient
This is disposable. So you will not get long use. I manage to stretch it out for a couple of weeks. They are very convenient. But do tear easily. I wind up covering the tear with my bandage tape. Happy with the product. I just wish they were sterile. They took a bunch of them and stuck them in a box. I have a PICC LINE so I need to use my pic sleave under it. And then put a fresh sleave on after the shower.

Keep dry
I had to have a picc line for a month and was so paranoid about getting it wet in the shower. These are great but I did use them as a second layer of protection. I bought a silicone arm sleeve to put over these and the combo worked really well! I can’t say how they do on their own but my line never got wet when I used this product and the other one.

Don’t waste your time and money!
I bought it to protect my new tattoo from being licked by my dog, but all it really did was make my arm sweaty. Plus, it was really uncomfortable due to the elastic digging into my skin.
