OXO Good Grips 1-Pound Healthy Portions Scale

It feels weird to rave about a littlte kitchen scale, but I will and here is why;- It's so sturdy. It's very solid and doesn't feel flimsy at all- It's compact. The top flips over to encase the bottom so it's easy to store without ruining the spring mechanism because the lid protects it- It's easy to calibrate. Instead of those horrible screw function where you turn the knob until it reads zero, the whole thing turns around to zero. So you can avoid getting the dish dirty by putting your small serving plate/container on top and calibrating it to zero. So easy!!- It's easy to read and it's metric on one side and imperial on the other.Perfect! Exactly what I wanted and more!

This is one of the best food scales I have purchased and it's a steal for the price! It is mini sized and goes up to 16 oz and easy to transport from the home to the office. It's ready to use and doesn't require any batteries. The thing I love about this the most is that the scale is easily adjustable and I can reset it at 0 oz once I place the plate on the scale to weight out food accordingly. My previous scale I had did not allow me to reset the scale and I'd have to manually subtract the weight of the plate from anything I'd place in it so definitely a step up!

I've been a fan of OXO products, since I got their excellent OXO Pepper Grinder. I was pleased to see they make a kitchen scale, and it looks the best in the price and feature range I was seeking. I wanted an analog scale, so I wouldn't have to be replacing batteries or tied to a power outlet. The purpose was to weigh food and ingredients as part of a diet plan. This scale works perfectly for that!The compact size is very convenient. I don't have a lot of counter space, so size was important. I also love how it comes with a detachable bowl which doubles as a protective cover. However, I just as often remove it and place my own bowl onto it. That way if I'm having a bowl of cereal, for instance, I can put the cereal bowl on, then precisely measure out the cereal and toppings (fruit, nuts, etc).Usage is very quick and intuitive. I can easily change from US to metric scales by turning the plastic ring ~180 degrees, though it would be nicer if it somehow showed both scales in the same window. Zero-ing the scale is quick (with the plastic ring) and allows measuring multiple items without emptying the container. Maybe it's not super accurate, I don't have a standard weight to test, but for a cheap, portable scale up to 1lb, I'm very happy!

Works great. I thought it would be bigger, but that's my fault. I am familiar with these styles of scales, which is why I purchased this one, so it is easy to use & is DEFINITELY compact!!Weighs things up to 1Lb as advertised & also measures grams on the flip side (can only weight one at a time.) Works well, I will make use of it, but would have liked a little bigger scale is all. Again, my fault.Lid fits tightly when stored & appears to be sturdy construction. The quality you would expect from OXO brand.

Great little lightweight scale. It takes up very little space when storing. It is convenient to use and having the little bowl to use with it is a plus. The bowl fits over the scale when you store it so the mechanisms are not damaged. Glad I don't have to worry about batteries having to be replaced.

My digital postal scale died, and I wanted something simple and easy to use that didn't require batteries. Received this today and it fits the bill. I don't need precise measurements, I only need to know how may additional ounces or partial ounces a letter or small package has so I can add extra postage. This is perfect. Tested and appears to be accurate. Doesn't take up much space on my work desk. Very pleased.

Just what I was looking for - a small kitchen scale for ounces rather than pounds, no batteries. I've had to throw away more than one digital scale and wanted just a simple scale which does not require batteries. Easy manual reset to 0. It's got something electronic in it though, so maybe it won't last forever, but so far no problems.

This is perfect as long as you understand it's for small portions, if you are diabetic and controlling portion sizes, it's really great for eliminating the guesswork when you want a snack. Especially nice that you can put it in your bag and travel with it. Also it helps me to quickly figure out the carb content in food or recipe ingredients, which I need to know in grams, so I don't have to do the mental conversion from Imperial measurments. Again though, it's limitation is that it is for small portions so it's ideal for what I use it for, and the calibration seems to be good enough. It's not going to stand in for a heavy duty kitchen scale.
