SheafferVFM Chrome Ballpoint Pen with Gold Tone Appointments

Writes smoothly, nice matte black finish. I usually write with an extra fine nib but the fine nib on this Sheaffer is quite pleasant. Better than I expected.

I am an amateur fountain pen enthusiast. I have a few pen, ranging in price from a few dollars to about $200. About ten years ago i purchased a Sheaffer, but it had a medium nib and I have since discovered that I prefer fine. I thought I would give this pen a try since I like the other Sheaffer and it is Lee's than $20.This pen exceeded my expectations. This pen writes better than some of my more expensive ones! The ink flows incredibly. This pen is also about the thickness of a ballpoint pen so it does not tire my hand as some larger and heavier pens do. And to top it off, the blue color of the pen is nice and bright; brighter than in the picture. I like it so much I'm considering buying another as backup.

The Sheaffer Vfm is surprisingly lightweight for a metal pen. It is not the smoothest writer, but the feedback isn't obnoxious. The fine nib puts down a convincingly fine line. Ink flow is on the dry side. The major downside is that it cannot fit any ink converters, not even the Monteverde minis. It almost makes up for it by accepting standard international short cartridges instead of requiring proprietary Sheaffer. It's a good value for the price, but you're better off in the long run spending a few more dollars for a Pilot Metropolitan.

My love for fountain pens runs deep, but this experience has shattered my heart. Unfortunately, the ink leaked, leaving its mark on my hands. The ink converter doesn't fit, rendering the pen useless. Regular Sheaffer cartridges failed too, leaking when filled. Grateful for a different pen that works, but I write this with a heavy heart. To fellow fountain pen enthusiasts, this pen may suit fleeting fancies, not enduring passion. Thank you for reading, my soulful journey with this pen forever changed, but the love for others remains untouched.To the manufacturer, I appreciate your efforts and kindly request enhancements for a better qualitative experience for customers.

Ink flows well; weight of pen is good. I am very happy with this purchase but with ONE EXCEPTION: Amazon is showing it with the wrong cartridges. Please note: You need to order Sheaffer cartridge 93090 for black ink and 93091 for blue ink. It comes with one black cartridge already inside the barrel. You need to remove it as it is probably lodged way in there; shaking and tapping works well. Then replace into barrel and screw the nib in well, piercing the cartridge. This really writes beautifully.

I bought this pen because I wanted to help my niece with her “save the date” wedding invitations plus she said I have very good penmanship. I wanted that calligraphy look and the fountain pen was just the right pen. The pen was not heavy. I did not have to grip the pen and the ink did not smear. My hand did not hurt after writing 200 envelopes.

This is my first fountain pen, I like it. I am still learning so sometimes if not careful can get a stained finger, but not a huge deal.It came with a cartridge that lasted me about a month, but I did write a lot for my studies, maybe 50-100 pages. Cartridges are cheap, writing with this pen is fun, I would recommend.

The pen is beautiful and I'm sure well made, however, it is metal, slippery in an older hand, and very narrow. For comfortable writing over hours rather than occasional notes, this pen is uncomfortable and not fun to write with.

This pen feels good in my hand and writes beautifully. Don’t get ink blots like with cheaper pens. So good I bought six. Love the bright pink colour. Highly recommended. A great product.

The pen broke into two pieces in a fall.. I don’t think the build quality of this pen is good enough compared to other Sheaffer pens

Ik had deze pen besteld om een kalligrafiepen met een fijne (platte) punt te hebben. Dwz ideaal voor cursief of vloeiend schrijven. Deze pen bleek een gewone vulpen met ronde punt te zijn. Verder zoekend op het internet lijkt het eigenlijk dat dit ook geen pen van het type Viewpoint is. Ik heb de pen teruggestuurd.

Its a very nice, well balanced and good looking pen. The flow is smooth and matt finish gives it a classy feel. A must buy in this budget.
