Buy this and ditch the BakBlade
Ok, I've used this Ape Scrape now for about a month -- absolutely love it. I do dry shaves using Schick Hydro 5 Hydrate Disposable Razors without ANY issues. I knock off the dry hairs after ever stroke or two and I never have razor burn, pulled hair, etc. The angle is perfect, holds my razor tight and I can reach my entire back, 5 stars.I'll also say I own both the BakBlade 1.0 and 2.0 versions and while they get to large sections, they don't cut that great and they don't cover the angles in the shoulder blade or middle of the back. I regret buying the 2.0 version even though the angle was better, but the blades just are still just no good.I'm sick of buying expensive BakBlade replacement blades that don't last long at all -- after 1 or 2 shaves I'd have to change it. So, I kept going back to using my regular Hydro razor for trimming back hair. My wife would tackle the job but sometimes I want to shave when she's not available. Ha, I even used velcro to secure my disposable razor to my old BakBlade wand, lol.Regular, disposable razors work WAY better IMO, and so the Ape Scrape was worth a try. Don't let any first impressions sway you, it looks cheap -- I mean it is, but I must say that the angle it holds my disposable is perfect, gets into all the places you need and doesn't move around. I was also a little worried about the o-ring breaking so I'd measure that and order a couple extras -- couldn't be more than a $1 for a few backups. But I've had zero problems with the o-ring supplied. So, given the purpose and the cost, you just can't beat this thing. If you're a larger guy with say a weekly back trim, I'd highly recommend giving this thing a try.

Good Concept but Needs Improvement
It will work best with pivot head type shavers. I tried it with Bic disposable razors and it was useless. The angle is too severe for the blades to touch skin. I was just raking off shaving cream. I wish the head angle that you attach the razor to was adjustable. I do like the purple color. The length and ease of use is good too. The band holding the razor in place is tight and the razor does not wriggle at all. One thing I do want to mention is in the details it says you get 2 of these. You do not, you get 1. I'm fine with just the 1 but I did want to point that listing error out.

Perfect for anyone recovering from hip surgery!
This is a great invention that is really helping me while I am recovering from 2 hip replacement surgeries. No more gorilla legs!! I can't say enough about it. I think it would work with just about any non-electric razor, but it's great if the razor head pivots to enable the best shave. Not only does it enable me to reach my lower legs to shave, it's also great for doing the back of my thighs which I cant reach because of the twisting action involved (which I'm not supposed to be doing while my hips heal). Great little tool for a low price. I highly recommend!

Great Product!
The handle is shaped just right to reach all over one’s back. The o-ring and hook attachment allows for a wide assortment of razors to be used and should be easily and cheaply replaced as rubber o-rings are easily found in multiple sizes. That said, mine has held up admirably. The shaver is very inexpensive and still works exactly as described. What more could one ask? It’s basically hollow and formed on one side. Now that keeps it very light and no doubt helps keep the cost down. But the edges aren’t sharp or anything so overall not a big deal. To me the true value is in the performance, not the appearance and it does work as advertised. And for so little money (when I bought mine) complaining about such a thing is silly, although I’m sure someone will <eye-roll>.I bought this as it was so inexpensive I figured I’d try it to see if back shaving would even work for me before spending so much more on a big name shaver. Well, it works and I think I’ll just keep using it and save the money the other guys charge for theirs.

Worthless
Very flimsy and won't expand to accommodate a Venus style razor. I wasn't able to attach my razor to it and don't think it was long enough to reach my legs anyway. Total waste of 10 bucks.

Easy to use, and works as expected with your current razor!
I'm impressed with this simple, but effective device. It works as advertised, and I had it out of the packaging and loaded with my current razor in no time. It's long enough to work well, but lightweight. The razor stays snug in the head of the unit, with no movement or wiggling. Highly recommended, if you want a simple, no muss, no fuss solution to getting your razor into hard-to-reach places.

Only works with straight handle razors
If your razors have a straight handle (like a bic) it is prefect and works as stated. But I use a Venus razor with the thicker handle. It would not stay in one place. I kept having to try and tighted the band. With carpal tunnel it was not easy.

Philips OneBlade Back Shaving Use
This I am sure was not designed for the Philips OneBlade in mind, so with that being said, I will consider that in my review. You need both of the rubber bands to attach the OneBlade to it. Loop one in the other, attach one to two hooks(top and bottom) and the other to the middle one hook on the other side. Then try to turn it on, since the power button is now against this handle. Just bend it up a little and push it as best as possible. It definitely gets the OneBlade at the perfect angle. I am keeping the product since it is better than trying to reach around and better than a straight tube I used to put the OneBlade in and try and shave my back. It is really not that sturdy of a product, but thats almost a good thing. The moment you put too much pressure down on the shaving, this bends and it makes you want to stop pushing down which acts as like a safety for pushing too hard. Not a lot of pressure needed for the OneBlade to shave the back. I am keeping it because it is my only option I have seen so far, but would definitely get rid of it if something better came out. The rubber bands are a pretty pain in the neck when trying to attach the OneBlade to it, but again, it was not made for something this big. If you are weak in the hands or fingers for any reason, this might be of a challenge to you with the two bands. For using it in a way not designed for, I give it five stars for being the best only option that is cheap and effective for now.
