Let There Be Light!
We had one of these at our old house for under the cabinets over the kitchen counter that lasted for years. When we moved, we left it behind, and I have been constantly complaining to my husband that I wanted a new one because I can't see anything I'm working on on the countertop. The first one came with a broken bulb, but as usual, Amazon's xustomer service was stellar and they sent out a replacement. I couldn't be happier. It plugs in, so it's not tidy with the cord hanging down, but we didn't want to go into the difficulties of installation behind the wall. The light is super bright and the switch is easy to find and operate without having to look. installation was quick and easy. So happy with the purchase!

Beware
The light that was shipped to me was already open and missing parts. Came with no cord whatsoever and the package was taped shut. On top of that the bulb was shattered and the light itself was broken. I would look elsewhere.

Attachment to cabinet is flimsey
My comments relate to the method used to attach this unit. The 36 inch unit attaches to the cabinet in two places and the light does not fit flush against the cabinet. The second issue is the size screws used to secure the light. The screws are short, but the problem is the screw head and slot for a screw driver are very small which makes it difficult to attach the light. The means used to attach this light are not efficient or well designed. This light would be improved by using larger screw heads, permanently attaching the attachment brackets to the light and designing the light to fit directly against the cabinet.

Lighting Up Areas
Talk about lighting up your area! I really really like these lights. Placed this one in the laundry room and it works awesome. Lotta light for less $$ (bucks) how could you go wrong with that. Simple set up just decide where to place it, then plug it in that's all there is to it.

Somewhat difficult to install - but throws a good light for my needs.
Non-star related comment: My first one arrived broken due to poor packaging. I immediately used Amazon's A-Z return guarantee. I ordered a second (replacement) and it arrived properly packaged.Star-related comments: The screws (only two) that came with the light are pathetic. When the first one stripped without abuse of any kind, I went to my odds-and-ends bucket and found two of sturdier variety that work perfectly.Were I to do this over again, I would probably use 3M Command strips in some way to mount this light. In the location where I placed it that kind of mounting option would work.The light assembly is thin, but when mounted horizontally, it is suspended away from the mounting surface by about 3/8" so that does "add" depth to the unit, negating some of the thin-factor. In my application, it is still completely hidden, but just thought I'd mention that.I will be purchasing at least one more. Very satisfied, and I feel like GE is a trustworthy name.
