Made a noticeable difference for my headphone amp
I’m running a Schiit Joutenheim amp with the multibit DAC with balanced output to some Audeze LCD-2 closed headphones and KRK monitors. I was pretty pleased with the results before getting the Pangea cable but after reading up on head-fi that other members were benefitting from an upgraded power cord, I figured I’d see for myself.I waivered between the AC-14SE and this one but ultimately decided on the 7 gauge beast. This cable could be a weapon with its weight and build quality. I didn’t realize just how big a 7 gauge cable was compared to my wimpy 18-22 gauge cables as you can see in the pictures.I can only speak from my own experience but when I A/B tested the original power cord with this one, there is no question an improvement in sound. It was a larger difference for me than using the single ended headphone cable and going to balanced.Everything opened up and felt like each note can stand on its own even more and the bass definitely improved (deeper and tighter). I’m loving relistening to tracks that I once knew inside and out and hearing a new and engaging way they are presented.I don’t know how this translates to lower end systems or if it scales to higher end ones than mine but I’d recommend just trying it for yourself if you are curious. I didn’t notice much if any difference plugging the cable into one of my monitor speakers, but they are entry level KRKs. But then again that was going back to the original power cord on the Joutenheim.Hope this review helps some people who are on the fence! Enjoy.

Great THICK cable - with a caveat
This is a great cable for the money - as other have stated it’s LITERALLY as thick as a garden hose, and as such, VERY stiff; make sure you know this before using up against a wall in a rack etc as it won’t bend tightly.

Built like a tank but beware it is hard to setup!
Let me start by saying these beefy monster cables are well made for the price. They have 7N pure copper wire in them and are double shielded (non-SE version)The only complaints I have that I think buyers should be aware of is that the cable is very heavy and will not suit setups where your audio components are in a tight rack/shelf setup, sometimes you have to even put items under the cables to prop up these cables so that the IEC Female end of the plug does not sag down in the socket possibly putting lots of wear on the socket of whatever audio component you are plugging them into in the long term. These cables are just too dam stiff and are a nightmare to setup in tighter rack type shelves. The thick stiff cables are just too difficult to maneuver around between the gaps of the shelf racks. And if you want to bend the cables in a specific way you have to use a low of force to bend it so that the connectors can go into the socket the direction you want.Overall in my system swapping out the stock cables for these (I have them installed one for the DAC and one for the headphone amp), I notice less forwardness in the music and possibly better imaging and balance from my Violectric V550 amp. I will see what the differences are after a quick "burn in" of the 7N copper Pangaea power cords.

It's a great cable if you have a power hungry amp. Be warned, this cable probably doesn't bend like cable it's replacing.
It's a great cable. I bought the 1 meter version. I wish I had bought the 1.5 meter one. It's a better cable than the AC 14SE for my amp, and I think that's a great cable. I have a tube amp and it warms up a lot faster with this cable, or maybe it sounds better and the warm up is more tolerable. Either way, I like this cable a lot. I should have know better, this the second AC 9 Power Cable that I've purchased. The other cable is used on my power conditioner that is plugged directly to the outlet. The other is the MKI version. I think the new one has Cardas Copper but otherwise it's the same. I don't know that it's better or worse, but, on my amp the thicker wire is an improvement. The reason I wish I had gotten the longer cable is because of the thickness of the cable. It's 7 gauge wire in a shielded covering. So it's not the most pliable cable ever. If you have to bend this cable, it will have huge radii and it will take up some of the length that you though might have. If you are replacing a 1 meter 14 gauge cable, consider getting the 1.5 meter one if you have to bend the cable and the length is tight. I had to move my power conditioner about 8 inches closer to get it to reach.

please read if your conisdering this cable.
its very stiff and well made. would i say its a huge improvement compaired to stock? no and heres why. i only require 45w per channel on my amp so i didnt notice a gigantic change, however on a solid state amp or high current integrated amp this thing will do wonders because it will help supply the proper power to the amp without restriction. same would go for a power hungry gaming pc. this power chord would do very well. the reason im keeping it is because of the amazing build quality. when u have to flex a few muscles to bend a cable, uk it has a decent amount of metal in it to supply good current flow. very impressed. even for that little 45w i did notice that my power is "cleaner". i used to have a bit more static through my speakers at a higher volume however now i can listen to music a bit louder and its less "fuzzy" sounding. im running a nice tube amp into a set of wharfedale 10.7s in case any one is wondering.remember power is sent to the transformer in your amp at 50-60hz so it actually moves back and fourth through the cable. the question is how well can that power move, and how well does it remove unwanted "noise". in this case id say pretty well. is there better? sure. for the price? heck no.

they have better sound than a generic cable
Avoid this 0.6 meter cable size. Is a very rigid cable, imposible to manipulate. Larger cables of the same 9 MKII series, they have better sound than a generic cable, but nothing really dramatic. Anyways, the price on those are fair. To those larger cables, I will give 3 stars.
