Even better than I thought
So glad replaced my aerator. I thought it would only fix the water stream and occasional dripping but is also solved some leakage in the lower part of the faucet. I believe by reducing the pressure when water flows. Anyway, very happy with the purchase; make sure you get the right size though. I had to order this one (red) after I ordered the wrong one.

What a Lifesaver!
Do not try to remove this with a screwdriver or any other tool! I tried using a screw driver on one of the faucets to remove the screen to clean it out and wound up breaking it and having to replace the entire faucet, which cost me $50.00 to replace. I had to clean out another faucet just like the one I broke so I ordered this and waited. When it came in, it took me longer to unwrap and open the package to get the item than it did for me to use this tool to remove the screen/washer, clean it out and reinstall it. Voila! I inspected the other faucets in the house that have strainer/screens that are removable and luckily, this tool fits all of the other ones so I'm good to go! Wish I would have found this sooner and not been so impatient.

Necessary, but cheaply made.
The red wrench wears easily and the old aerators are difficult to remove. A rare miss from Kohler. The wrench should be made of harder material.

Easily removes Kohler Alteo faucet aerator
The wrench removal tool was able to easily remove the aerator from my Kohler Alteo bathroom faucet(Model #K-45100-4-BN). I was able to clean the aerator and put it back using the wrench tool. The aerator replacement that came with kit did not fit my faucet.

How do you figure out which one you need?
I have a Kohler faucet in my bathroom sink in a rental, which I haven't been in too long. The water flow seemed to be limited, so I asked a building handyman about that. He felt it might be grit in the aerator, but said you need a special tool to remove the aerator to clean it. That is ridiculous, but what is even more difficult is that you need to know what the gallons per minute rating is of your faucet, to know which one to order. The one I ordered isn't the right size, but it wasn't too expensive, so oh well. In the meantime, I've discovered I may not need this special tool. I should be able to unscrew the aerator with a dime, and I will see how it goes from there. I shouldn't need to order special tool, plus a new aerator, every time the aerator gets some grit in it. More to come. Maybe Kohler is just trying to make more money. Aren't we all.
