Amazing piece of kit!
This little box has put a huge smile on my face! Now I can appreciate the cranked tones from my Engl at sensible volume levels in the home! I’m well made up with my purchase, just wish I’d of bought one sooner as I’ve been window shopping this particular one from Audiostorm for a while. I like the brand and what theyre about. I would highly recommend the Hot Box 120 to anyone who owns a valve amplifier. If you’re reading this review then I suspect you’re probably in the market for one already so why not give Audiostorm a shot? You’ll be supporting a smalll hard working business and I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed. It’s straight forward to use, does absolutely everything you would expect and performs flawlessly, it sounds fantastic too and that’s the most important thing!

Recommended for tube amps
This is really really good gear. Have used with a 50w marshall combo at home, on stage, at rehearsals. Really helps to dial in the tube amp when at home

Works fantastically!
Excellent product, transformed my Fender 'Blues Junior' from a good Amp that really sounded best pushed into a great usable Amp.Works exactly as advertised.Really impressed.

Life saver!!!
Arrived the next day and is built like a tank! Tried it for the first time today and it's exactly what I needed. I've got a Marshall jvm 100 watt head and Marshall 4x12 with v30 speakers, so it's not very neighbour friendly, and to be honest can be a bit much for rehearsals. Enter the hotbox. I tried it for the first time today on the -16db setting, and got my amp half way before it started to be a bit loud for the neighbours. Thankfully they're very understanding and I can get away with more volume than most people, but at 10 o'clock it was still pretty quiet, and probably quiet enough for most bedroom practices. I haven't tried it at a rehearsal yet, but I'm looking forward to using the -10db setting and pushing the amp more than I usually can.As for the heat, I played for over 2 hours and it was still stone cold. Obviously if I cranked the amp more it would get hot, but it's good to know at home it won't.Overall, very impressed and would highly recommend to any guitarist with a valve amp.

Great product - very well built!
I use it to tame my beloved Marshall Vintage Modern 100W head. Works great! For bedroom playing you just set the switch to 'Jam' and use the variable control knob. For studio or real-life jamming you set it to 'Studio' for a -10 dB reduction in volume (non-variable).

... JCM and the HotBox 120 and could not be happier with the results
First band practice yesterday with a Marshall 900 JCM and the HotBox 120 and could not be happier with the results.Set the HotBox to minus 16db's I was able to crank up the volume of the amp to an singer friendly level, then hit the boost to what volume I need for my parts.Best comment I got was the drummer asking why is my sound so much clearer, so pointed to the HotBox sitting on top of the amp.

Got Valves? Get one of these!
Performs to spec - very useful paired with my Fender Blues De-Luxe, which although only 40 Watts is way louder than expected. The Power Break makes the amp much more useable... getting all the overdrive tone at a manageable volume. Anybody with a valve amp would benefit from one of these

.
Brilliant piece of gear and just what I needed for my Blackstar Artisan 15. I can really get those valves cooking at home and out gigging.
