Great variety
I bought this as a gift. I like how recipes are arranged by season. The ingredients are not too complicated nor lengthy. Also has great photos!!

Great Recipes
10/10 would recommend. My wife has made so many recipes from this book during winter. Only downside is that I got fat from eating too much

measurements are unreliable, but it is soup
Before you get the wonrg idea, let me say that I like this book, I'd even give it 4.5 stars. I'm just a detail oriented person and there are details that stand out as incongrous.It is a book written in the UK. UK cups, pints, quarts are different from US measures. UK measures are 6/5 larger than US. Before you say 5/4 I will point out that the UK fluid ounce is smaller than the US fluid ounce.Reading through the book, it becomes obvious that some recipes use US measures and some use UK. It is unimportant unless you have mixed measuring tools in your kitchen. It's soup not pastries where measurements are critical. Most recipes (maybe all) use cup/pint/quart measures and give metric equivalents though the tralations are careess and often inaccurqate.The book starts off with techniques, making stock and other essentials of soup making. Do not overlook these points. They really make a difference in getting a consistent soup.I must comment on the clam chowder recipes. Both recipes tell you to shuck the clams and cut them up. the recipes do not suggest what size of clam there are many ranging from littleneck to quahog, of course your choice will make a difference in the outcome of the meatiness of your chowder. also the reicpes tell you to shuck the clams. it is so much easier to steam them, they open their own shells for you and you get a clam broth that you can use in your chowder.The book finishes with 10 bread recipes, I think you will like these, though I dont see why they are needed in a soup book.

The best way to get. my man to cook for me
I bought this for my boyfriend and he has made about 20 soups so far and he loves trying new soups. It was a perfect gift for him and for my self.

Beautiful pictures
All recipes do not have pictures. I just received. I bought a used copy. It looks good, in great condition.I can eat any kind of food but I do not want to live that student life anymore. I bought this to learn to make proper traditional soups that don’t taste like grass-and-water and could be served to people.I am using my instant blender to do these. There’s new kinds that I haven’t heard of. And it’s sectioned season wise. The soups look smooth.
