13.3 inch model is wonderful! Macbook Pro. I chose it over the 15 inch model.
Even though at the time I purchased this in late May 2023, the 15+ inch model was basically the same price as the 13.3 inch model, I chose the smaller for portability. It's wonderful! It's the size of a Macbook 13 inch screen, which is plenty enough for my accessory side screen. The larger screened model has a different stand, similar to an Apple ipad folding screen stand. I don't love those so I figured the pull-out stick of the 13.3 inch screen might be better for me, if it works; it does work and, like the one on the larger sceen, is not adjustable for angle. That said, it's very sturdy and built in. The 13.3 inch model comes with a padded pouch for the screen, the larger screen model does not.Very happy with plug n play on my 2021 M1 Macbook Pro. Literally no settings to adjust on the computer or on the Acer monitor, I just plugged it in and it worked. I do wish it would stand in Profile view, but it is landscape only. The resolution is fine for running Twitch, Tweetdeck, etc on the side screen, and I am very pleased. Amazing value. Are the bezels big? Yes, but same on 15 inch model, and once watching the screen they go unnoticed. Since its portable, nice to have something to grab hold of, the bezels are functional. No built-in speakers. No need external power necessary, works off the USB-C power. It didnt flicker or anything. Some reviews mention a dark screen, especially when running from a laptop on battery. I do not at all notice this on my MacBook Pro; the Acer screen is bright and fine even when I am running 100% on laptop battery (i.e. laptop unplugged), so maybe this is not a MacOS issue for this Acer.Once reason to consider the 13.3 inch model is the pixel ratio is the same so the resolution should be better on the smaller screen. No screen lag for social media use (I do not game). The USB-C to USB-C cable is about three feet long, which is nice to plug the monitor in to either side (near or far side) of your laptop.Recommended.

NOT 75x75 vesa, its 100x100 vesa, can get stuck in a boot loop requiring 2 usb-c power connections
The product page says 75x75 for mounting but its actually 100x100.In the display settings there are 2 profile options that come with warnings. if you only have one usb-c power connection and you turn on these settings, it will boot loop because it requires 2 usb-c power connections. if you don't have 2 usb-c cables you WILL NOT be able to change the profile to a less power hungry one and stop boot loop without it.Besides those 2 issues its working well so far using mini hdmi for video and usb-c for power from my desktop pc.if it last more then a year ill give it another stars.

Great Quality on the Go, Minor Flaws
The Acer PM161Q is an excellent portable monitor, delivering impressive image quality in a lightweight and travel-friendly design. It’s incredibly easy to take on the go, making it a great choice for professionals or students who need the flexibility of a dual-monitor setup wherever they are. The included self-standing sheath provides decent stability, although it could be sturdier. One aspect that could be improved is the mixed mechanical/button menu selector. While functional, it feels a bit fragile and could be prone to issues over time. That said, for the price and portability, it’s hard to beat this monitor's convenience and clarity. If you’re frequently working outside of a traditional office or need an extra screen on the go, the Acer PM161Q is definitely worth considering.

Starting having problems after about six months
As with other reviewers, I really wanted to love this monitor - and for the first six months or so, I did. The pros (from a non-IT type user): super lightweight, reasonably durable, decent display quality, and the price (I paid only about $130 in August 2020). It was a perfect second monitor, considering the tiny footprint. The cons: for the last few months, I have had problems ranging from difficulty getting a signal ("No Signal" showing up on the display) to screen flickers, to the screen blacking out for a few seconds and then coming on again, only to black out again a few seconds later. This culminated in my spending several hours with corporate IT yesterday making sure that all possible drivers were up to date. (I have a Dell laptop and, unlike another reviewer, this has not presented a problem). We tested the monitor on a different computer, checked the cable, ports, connections, etc. Today, the monitor seemed to have officially given up the ghost. All I could get was a "No Signal", regardless of which included cord I used, or what I plugged it into. Now, the monitor is suddenly functioning again. The unreliability that has developed is disappointing. No knowing if the monitor will work or not, and how much finagling with cords or restarts will be required to make the thing come alive makes for an unproductive work day. It looks as though the current price is more like $170, which is way over-priced considering the issues people seem to be having. I haven't check out other options but it would be better to spend more, if necessary, and get a product that will have a longer life and better reliability. I have not contacted Acer support yet - although the reviews on that don't seem to be encouraging, either. Think carefully before spending close to $200 on something that has a strong possibility of having problems within a year of purchase. Not sure what the extended warranty is like or how much extra that was, but if you take the plunge and buy this monitor, that might help to mitigate any future issues.
