Light, long and effective
After trying several pole saws found this the most useful. It is long yet does not bend at the end. It is sturdy yet light in weight. It has short trimming blade yet very sharp to cut through woody branches. All in all, I find it the best pole trimmer and cutter for high branches within the reach of its length (10 ft. without ladder).

A really practical tool at a reasonable price.
We really like this tool! It takes a tremendous amount of labor out of reaching those hard to get places in our mango trees. This is a quality tool at a decent price and a great investment for our mango grove here in Florida. There is a slight learning curve to using this but once you understand how it actually functions with the clamp and shearing device it works really well. You can snip off the fruit of your choice and while keeping the handle squeezed lower it without fear of dropping and potential damaging your product. Thanks.

Works well but a bit lightweight
Good long extension for clipping branches, but somewhat lightweight and perhaps not sturdy enough for some uses. I do recommend it, bit not for heavy-duty needs.

An Innovative Design - It Exceeded my Expectations
I have grown to love this pruner!I was initially skeptical upon arrival, as the pruner head is small, and you will be limited to 3/8" size branches.Just remember to firmly seat the pole-clips when extending so as to engage the pruner, and I suggest cleaning and lubricating the pruner head after each day's use.I have been using it to cut back blackberry "canes", and it is going strong after 500+ cuttings.

Bad design. It damaged Trees, my body and pruner itself
1) The clipper is difficult to position. Trying to thin out the top of my crepe myrtle and orange tree, it ONLY cuts and saws cleanly at a 45 degrees angle to the branch. It would not cut through 1/2 in. branches. It worked on 3/8-inch diameter or less ONLY when I could fit the pruner between the crowded twigs and branches and hold it at that angle. So silly to need a thinned-out tree to use the pruner to thin out the tree top!It got stuck. I damaged the branches removing it. Eventually I damaged the clipper too.2) The pruner is very heavy. It took much muscle strength and endurance to position it, hold it up, and prune upper branches with either clipper or saw. Fully extended, it took greater strength to hold it and squeeze the handle to operate the clipper.I am a short, older-adult woman. After 3 hours, my crepe myrtle looks terrible. My entire body is worn out, in pain - especially my right shoulder and right hand. It3) Saw blade is too thin, flimsy, flexible. It would not saw into crepe myrtle branches well. It scraped off bark, slipped up and down, and made tree sway as I tried to saw into upper branches. Saw blade and clipper blade both got stuck in the branches, pulling the branches and tree. I damaged the tree and the pruner trying to get it free.Tried saw on orange tree another day, with similar problems.

Add this one to your Tool Box
I have a few different types of pole pruners. So, I after reading the reviews, I thought I try it. Just like everyone else said this is great for small branches 1/4 to 1/2 inch max. I have another pole pruner "Fiskar" that works great but it to cut you have to pull down in a piston like motion. Anyways, this pruner cuts just like a hand pruner, which is so much easier when cutting a lot of small branches. In conclusion, if want a pole pruner to cut all sizes of branches, don't buy, but if you have to cut a lot of small branches, you want this in the tool box. One more thing, this extends a long way out so high branches are no problem, plus its seem very well made.

Plastic saw blade mount broke in less than a year of lite use
Worked, but hard to guide the trimmer at long extension. Plastic saw blade mount broke in less than a year of light use.

A Useful Landscaping Tool
Within 10 minutes out of the box, this extension pruner earned a coveted position among my yard tools. It is not the be all and end all of shrub trimmers but I have not found one that is. If it is powerful enough to lop through 1/2 inch oak branches with a racheting mechanism, it is too heavy and award to use to trim smaller shrubs. The usual gamut of hand loppers do not have the reach for taller shrubs. This tool hits the sweet spot for certain hard to reach branches. It makes easy work of shoots smaller than 1/4 inch but I would not even attempt larger diameters for fear of damaging the cutter. The hand grip action gives you much better control than sliding or rope pulling actuation - even when fully extended. The packaging was adequate but amateurish. You better have some acetone on hand to remove the tape residue on the pole. Be careful of the cutting blade, it is amazingly sharp. This will be my go to pruner for keeping tall shrubs under control without the need to haul out the ladders. I will definitely reserve it for new growth and branches under 1/4 inch.
