Perfect sun protection of a new scar.
I love this product to ensure 100% protection of exposing a new scar to the sun. It is on my arm, and I am very cautious of keeping it protected this summer to make sure it heals as faded as possible. I feel this tape is the best option for protection as it completely covers the scar and I don't have to worry about it. Using traditional sunscreen seems to not offer as much protection, and also because of the area its on, it seems to rub off too easily.

great sun protection
just got a laser skin treatment on a scar i had so i had to cover it from the sun. Mine did not come stuck together. however, keep in mind (especially if you are going to suse it on your face) that it's pretty thick and the sharp edges might poke if u dont cut correctly. To keep it applied all day also make sure that your skin is clean and dry because otherwise it'll slide right off.

If you have a tape adhesive allergy this is the tape for you!
This is the ONLY tape I have used in my entire life (I am 60) that does not cause my skin to redden, and break out with blisters. It really truly is a godsend for me. I have a gastrostomy tube (low profile "button" type peg tube) and, I am very prone to granulation tissue, the only way to keep the granulation from forming is for me to have a very stable feeding tube, Friction seems to be my #1 enemy when it comes to granulation tissue i.e. proud flesh.I had a Corflo brand cuBBY for a few months, and it was stable enough on its own, just by virtue of its design, to where I had no need to tape it. But, I'm back to the Kimberly Clark Mic-key brand now, and unless I keep it taped - as in immobile - granulation slowly but surely comes back. So, coupling that propensity with a tape allergy, you can easily understand why I am thrilled beyond words to find the HY tape.I read many reviews on Amazon, not only for this particular Hy-tape sold in the one inch width, but other sizes and amounts as well. Here are a few things to think about.1) In reference to the very few comments that said the tape they received was not the same as the HY tape they purchase at their local medical supplies store...Unless the person states in their review which vendor on Amazon actually was the store they purchased their tape from, there is no was for others to really make an informed decision as to whether they want to risk purchasing a counterfeit product. For example, right now there are 6 different vendors selling the two inch wide Hy tape on Amazon, The one inch, in pack of three rolls, is sold by four vendors at the time of this review being written. So, you can see the difficulty in determining which vendor sold a tape that did not perform correctly, but, a blanket assumption that all HY tape sold on Amazon is not up to standards would be an incorrect assumption. From personal experience, as a long time Prime member, I try to purchase products that are Prime eligible, if for no other reason that easy refunds if I do get a dud that is defective, or a fake, etc. I did have a problem with a defective order of tape purchased from an Amazon vendor (tape was wound only on about half the width of the spool, rest was hanging off, stuck together, and completely unusable) There were no problems with a return (again, Prime purchase).2) HY tape is not pink (neither here nor there, but thought I'd put it out there) Its a brightish orangy kind of "bandaid" color. No, its not pretty, its really not.3) There are stickier tapes out there. If you don't have a tape allergy (and I'm talking about the adhesive on tape, not a latex allergy, although HY is latex free) then other tapes will probably perform better for you if you need strong adhesion.4) Once the tape warms up to your skin temperature, it sticks better. And, it has to be applied to clean dry skin. After it is stuck there, it can then get wet, etc. But it has to stick well first. The following is copy and pasted from the Hy tape website:"Hy-Tape's zinc oxide-based adhesive is soothing to delicate skin, and removes with minimum trauma, thereby reducing the chance of skin tears and tape burns. Hy-Tape eliminates the need for skin prep, and its thermal adhesion properties provide maximum adhesion at body temperature without becoming more aggressive as acrylic-based adhesive tapes do. Hy-Tape is perfect for extended-wear adhering securely to wet, oily or hairy skin. It removes easily without discomfort or irritation, leaving little or no residue. With Hy-Tape, skin stays healthy and intact... Hy-Tape has the unique quality of providing maximum adhesion when it reaches body temperature, without getting more aggressive or breaking down over time as acrylic-based adhesive tapes do...Although no skin prep is required for application, skin must be initially clean & oil free. Hy•Tape® will then remainin place in the presence of drainage, perspiration, humidity, and oily skin. It’s thin and exible, conforms to body contours, and remarkably, it’s just as easily removed from sensitive skin. Hy•Tape® is Latex-free, zinc oxide based and non-allergenic. Most importantly, it won’t break down over time, so skin remains intact and healthy."So, to summarize, if you can't use tape due to adhesive sensitivity, this is a great tape for you! If, on the other hand, you just need a waterproof dressing, there are some wonderful very solid sticking tapes and films out there to choose from, such as Tegaderm and Smith & Nephew OpSite Flexifix Transparent Film.If you go to the Hy Tape website, you can request a sample of the tape be sent out to you.You can also purchase directly from them at a SUBSTANTIAL savings compared to purchasing via Amazon or another online reseller. If you only need a roll or two, due to short term need, then Amazon is the way to go, but, if you have an ongoing need, then consider purchasing in bulk from HY tape.

DEFECTIVE EVERY TIME
It's impossible to find HyTape that has not been melted & rendered UNUSABLE. This is the third or fourth defective roll this year. Are all sellers of HyTape so negligent they do not check tape roll in box prior to shipment? Or is all tape inventory outdated and defective and sellers sell them anyway? What's the issue with HyTape? From now on have to avoid the VetMed seller. Too many defective HyTape rolls.

Extremely durable and forms a tight waterproof seal
I use this tape to cover my PICC line for showers, and I have never had my dressing get wet! I also use this tape to keep my ostomy bag base plate down. Excellent adhesion, completely waterproof tape. Highly recommend. It is expensive, which is the downside. But, it is highly effective.

Expensive but totally worth it
I had never heard of pink tape before but I needed a tape for my bandages that would be easy on my skin. I have pretty sensitive skin so I frequently had bad reactions to a lot of other adhesives. These were gentle on my skin and left little to no residue after using them for over 3 days straight. It seems expensive but the roll will last me quite a long time as long as I stop getting injured.

Is not water proof
Comes off easily once wet. Not worth the price.
