I absolutely LOVE Bulk Supplements products. I've bought many of their supplements and would highly recommend them to anyone. The quality of their products is superb and they are very cost-effective. You get more than what you paid for in my opinion. I bought this product not only as an aid for muscle recovery, but also for its properties to promote hair, nails, and skin growth. It dissolves very easily and I take it daily in the morning. I've only used this product for a couple of weeks, but I'm starting to notice that my hair and nails are growing faster and my skin does look healthier. The length of time for my muscle recovery has shortened a bit as well. Bulk Supplements has me as a customer for life! I can hardly wait to try their other supplements.

I don't use this everyday, or even every week. Because I don't get drunk every week. I don't even drink every week. But when I want to go to a party and have a good time, and not worry about having a hangover that night and the next morning, I take some of this with me, and once I get to the party, I take about 1/4 teaspoon of it and mix it into a glass of plain water. Then I sip it in between drinks, and after my final drink for the evening. It does not taste good, but it is very effective. Cysteine binds to acetaldehyde (a toxic byproduct of drinking alcohol) and neutralizes it quite effectively. I've tried cysteine tablets and while they work okay, they don't work as well as this powder format.Again, not something I would take on a daily basis. Just for days or nights when I drink alcohol.For daily consumption of cysteine, I take NAC capsules on an empty stomach for better absorption.

Cysteine seems to produce a slight rotten smell when mixed with protein powder. I don't know if it is the protein or the cysteine, but it is not bad. It might be better taking it in a pill form. I just started using it.

Doesn't warrant even a single star. smells like rotten eggs; VERRRY rotten eggs! I opened the bag and almost passed out from the smell it was that overbearing. I cannot believe that this is normal and I didn't even think twice about tossing it in the trash. No way was I going to ingest this, but unfortunately, I did not think to look at the expiration date I was so disgusted. Do yourself a favor, spend your money wisely and get your supplements from a reputable health store.

I like how fast and efficient bulk supplements are. The product even came a day early.I got l-cysteine after doing some research about using it with vitamin b5 for skin problems. Some people that take vitamin b5 for acne report hair loss, which is something I really want to avoid. I have thin hair already and have even looked into biotin in the past for hair growth, but didn’t take it because for some people it can cause breakouts. So hopefully the combination of b5 and l-cysteine will help me nourish my skin and hair back to health. It’s too early to tell yet as I’ve only been taking them for 3 days. I’ll update my review later.The package is easy to use and the powder looks clean. It is more like crystals than powder actually and it dissolves easily in water. It smells a bit like sulfur, but it’s not super powerful. I was afraid it would have a strong rotten eggs smell, and the sulfur smell is there, but it’s just not that bad. I’m reminded of some sulfur springs I’ve visited and how people bottle the water for health benefits. This stuff is no where near as smelly or eggy as that water was. Actually the l-cysteine has a tangy tart taste. I mix it in a small amount of water in a shot glass and down it, followed by more water. It’s not wonderful but ok. Epsom salt tastes wayyyyy worse. But I’m sure using juice would help it go down.All in all I am really satisfied right now. I know these things take time and am interested to see the long term effects of this supplement.

I reviewed this by mistake. I haven’t taken much L-Cysteine because it’s the worst-tasting thing I’ve ever had the displeasure of trying. It tastes the way green vomit does when you have a severe hangover. I need to get some gel pills to put it in so I can test it’s effects. In the meantime, if I can’t delete my review I’ll give it 4 stars to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Product came quickly (on a Sunday!!) and arrived in pristine order. The packaging was particularly impressive, zip lock top, heavy duty foil wrapping that seems to be sunlight and water proof. The pure white powder seemed fresh and hygienically produced under medically sanitary conditions. I've been using the product since it arrived and am pleased with the results. I am using it for a variety of reasons, as a dough conditioner for my pizza crusts, to help regrow my hair and as a cofactor with other supplements to maintain liver health. This is VERY cost effective and I will order from this company again. Highly recommended.
