Pet Gear Pet Step III Pet Stairs for Small Dogs and Cats Up to 50 pounds, Lightweight, No Tools Required

After trying a few other types of pet stairs and ramps, I was about to give up and figure I'd have to get up and pick up my old boy whenever he "needed" up on my bed. Yup, he's 13, and spoiled, so there's no way of convincing him that being up with me isn't a life or death matter :-).Then I saw these steps on Amazon and the three step height was perfect for me as the top step is just a couple of steps lower than the top of my mattress. The steps are covered with carpet pieces which Velcro in place and easily remove to be washed if necessary. This helps the pet to feel more secure in their grip when climbing as opposed to some models which felt slick and they basically refused. They're deep enough to make climbng the steps quite comfortable and easy for my old fellow.I really think these steps would work for a wide range of dog sizes. My dogs are both 20-25 lbs and I can see where a much smaller or much bigger dog would find them easy to use because the step size facilitates that. Even my cats have decided to use them. Also, after trying several other types with no success for various reasons, my dogs, even the old guy that I really needed this for, figured out how to comfortably use these steps within a day or two and quickly got over any fear of using them. Luring them with a treat and a little coaxing didn't hurt either! But the point is, no bribery was working till we got this set.We've had these at least six months now, and they're very sturdy (I sometimes use it as a step stool even) and show no signs of wear. They're very easy to clean and don't really take up much room.I've attached two photos, and tried to get one of him coming up the stairs, but he does it so fast with such agility now that I couldn't get one that wasn't blurry. So I decided to attach it anyway to make the point of how well these work for him!! :-)

Excellent dog steps for my mini schnauzers, to help them get onto the couch. Amazing quality, size, and price. These are Very sturdy steps. Definitely recommend them. (I had the collapsible ones, but they kept collapsing on them. So these are a game changer. ) I'm Very Happy with them!

I bought these steps as I need some steps for my two Basset Hounds.I have some steps that have been great that I bought for "SkyMall" but these are not high enough to reach the top of the bed or my station wagon door.These Pet Gear steps were actually not "ideal" as the vertical distance between each step is just a little too much for my Basset's short legs - though they do both seem to be getting accustomed to them and using them more each week. Once one them uses it - the other follows - as "Mr. Spock" might say, it is "simple logic". :)The product assembly went together easily - all the parts snap together well. I will say that the instructions were pretty much useless - referencing "part a..z" some of which did not actually exist on the individual piece's labels. I think the instructions were made for another (previous?) product. I had no problems putting the thing together - there are few assembly steps necessary and it seems straight forward looking at the illustrations - though I must mention that I am an engineer.The doggie steps seem sturdy, and the rubber feet on the bottom to prevent sliding on my hardwood floor as well as the carpet on each step for the dog's to dig into are welcome features. The final assembly is light enough for me to easily take it outside when it is time to load the dogs in the car.

I bought these steps mainly for one of our Shelties who has been recently diagnosed with a joint conditon which doesn't allow her to do the jumping she used to do. Those these steps are designed for larger dogs, and my Shelties are all approx 20 lbs, some a little less, some a little more....but these steps are larger and sturdier than some of the ones designed for small dogs which is something I was looking for. They do not wobble and the dogs are very comfortable using them. They have removable carpet pieces on each step which is great as once the carpet wears out it would be easy to make something to replace them with. The stairs themselves are made out of very thick plastic, reminds me of the little tykes childens outside play furniture, they are slightly hard to snap together but that's a good thing as once they are snapped together they are firmly in place and makes the whole unit very solid and stable. Although bought for the one dog, the others all quickly decided it was way better to use their new steps rather than trying to jump up on the bed. These are a taller set of steps, would be too tall for a couch but are perfect for our tall bed. They also come in a variation with only two steps that I'm planning to buy for use with the couch. Well worth the price, these steps will last for years and my dogs love them. My dogs didn't require any "training" to use them, I simply put one of them on the steps and patted the bed and they ran up, and with my gang it's a matter of monkey see, monkey do, once one used them, they all quickly decided by the end of the day to all use the steps. However with a dog who is more Leary of such objects, it would be easy to train with these steps by putting a small treat on each step and on the bed and coaxing them to follow the trail. Because they are nice larger steps, small dogs feel more secure using them as they wont fall off easily. Looking forward to using these for many years.
