Janome 5300QDC - Awesome Machine
I ordered the janome 4300 qdc and they upgraded me for free to the 5300 qdc. The only thing I can say is that this machine is awesome. It's like having a beat up old clunker car your whole life and suddenly you have a brand spanking new luxury car. I should have done this many years ago but I absolutely love this machine it is so quiet and so easy to use. I highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a good machine that will probably last them a lifetime. I know the 5300 qdc is been discontinued but the next model is already out and it would be well worth the money. If you bought one of these machines you would fall in love with it and never want anything else again.

Must've died and gone to heaven!
This is a truly wonderful machine. Sews so smooth, so many stitches to choose from, auto thread cutter, auto needle down position, knee lifter, sew with or without the foot pedal! And this does have the extra height on the presser foot, you just lift it up from its up position to get the extra height needed for thick fabrics. Some reviews said there isn't one but they are mistaken. I can't wait to start my quilt! I have my blocks ready to sew. I started out sewing on my old singer, trying to make masks during the pandemic, and what a nightmare. I got a Janome sewist721 mechanical machine and I literally cried it was so much better than my singer. (they are only $299.00 on Amazon right now for anyone who wants a great mechanical machine) But I wanted this for the extra stitches, all the wonderful features it has. I am so glad I got this!

I was upgraded to a 5300
I love this sewing machine. I ordered the 4300 and was upgraded to the newer 5300 at no additional cost by my seller (how lucky and fantastic was that!).I was using a $200 Brother machine before making the decision to upgrade to this one. I can’t get over the difference of how this machine handles. Many of the features are the same or similar to my Brother machine, but oh so much better. This machine is more powerful. The instruction manual provides more detail than the Brother did as well so I know and understand the capabilities better. Favorite new features: thread cutter, twin needle button and magnifier for seeing those stitches that match the fabric so closely. The alignment plate is so much nicer, so easy to see exactly where my seam lines are. The LED light is much brighter as well. There are 300 programmed stitches, I’ve used about 20 of them so far mainly because the manual explained them so much better. I’m having so much fun learning and using this machine. I am very happy with it and so glad I upgraded. Can’t say enough about the seller for upgrading me at no additional cost. My machine also arrived a day earlier then promised.

Sews beautifully
Replaced a new Singer that I didn’t like and glad I did. Excellent machine, beautiful stitches. Super easy to use and just enough fun stitches and features that are great for beginning and experienced sewers. Far quieter than previous machines I’ve owned. Could use a little more lighting however but I use a bright desk lamp so it’s not an issue at home. Overall great machine.

Doesn't allow for extra clearance under the foot fir positioning thick fabrics
Overall the machine is pretty nice and has some nice features you would expect on a machine of this price range. However, it lacks something even $100 Singers have, the ability to add more clearance under the presser foot by pushing up on the presser foot lever. This may seem like a small thing but when you you have to fight to get 2 layers of fleece and 2 of Jersey under the needle, it's a deal breaker, I sent it back. A machine of this caliber, should have this feature.

Amazing Upgrade From My Current Machine
The Janome 5300QDC was super easy to setup right out the package for me but I think it might be due to the fact that my previous machine was also made by Janome. I absolutely adore this machine! My favorite features are auto-needle down, automatic thread cutter, the knee lifter and magnifying glasses. The only thing that I’m not a fan of is the automatic needle threader as it is way more difficult to use than the one on my previous Janome which cost much less. The machine is easy to use, and runs smoothly. I can tell that I'm going to get a lot of years of use out of it.

Item was new in box, very satisfied
Item is an older model but new in box, just what I was looking for, can't afford top of the line. This also had extras for quilting and I am putting it through it's paces, working very good. I had to adjust the bobbin tension for free form quilting, other than that no issues, quilting is a breeze.
