If you’ve not tried Spanish-style “drinking chocolate” you really should. It is intensely chocolatey (though you can choose to use more or less and vary that) and has a wonderful smooth texture — much smoother than the Mexican version which tends to be grainy, in my experience no matter how diligently you whip it. It and the instant chocolate stiff I had as a kid are from different galaxies.We find a large cup/mug of this is just too much. We use either smallish tea cups (which take about 4 squares of chocolate — there are 30 squares per bar) or demitasse/espresso cups (1.5 to 2 squares). And while the instructions call for milk, we always use water. I’d put it this way: if you prefer milk chocolate, use milk; dark chocolate, water.There is a small amount of rice flour in the chocolate; as the chocolate boils (just a simmer, but with bubbles) it slightly thickens it. That’s good. Don’t be afraid to boil it a couple of minutes, whether with water or milk. Enjoy!

This is a tasty treat to warm me up for cold days. Easy to make as it just takes melting it over a warm pot mixed with whole milk or some cream. Delicious.

Great product. Perfect to make Chocolate a la taza. You can melt it with just a bit of milk and it will get you a rich and dense not overly sweet chocolate similar to what you get in Spain

I’m from Spain, I grew up drinking Spanish Hot Chocolate for breakfast. This is nowhere near as thick, or as Chocolaty. Overall, it’s not bad. I would recommend it with some reservation.
