Installation is easy but configuration is a bit tricky for some whose none technical. Read the instructions as its instructed otherwise you’ll get loss along the way.Create an account first to Wunderground and weathercloud as these are needed in the configuration of your device. Once set up, data forecast and other information are fairly accurate. The display looks good in colour and big. Brightness has 3 options and it can be fitted on the wall or simply on the table.My setup are 20 feet high up from the ground and the device is 50 feet away from the base which gives both a very good signal to communicate with no solid wall in between only Windows of the property.Lastly, ensure at your own comfort that you must have an access to the device as it is battery operated that once its drained you will have to replace it. So make sure its not too high for you to reach for your own safety.Overall I’m enjoying it as 2 storms already passed by as of this writing and was amazed of the information given. Enjoy!

Took a little while to set up after it wasn't clear that the battery is for back-up only and will not power the display. The base station had to be forced into AP mode with a long (3-5 seconds) push on the sensor/wifi button on the back, it would not start in AP mode when reset. Once in AP mode it then can connect to the internet to Weather Underground and/or WeatherCloud. After registering the unit it also connects to your wifi for date and time settings. I don't like the flimsy plug where the UK attachment can come off when removing from the socket.It is quite a nice display, nothing special but it tells you all you want to know; I find the illumination button adjuster (3 settings) a little awkward. The mains power can be switched off for at least a few minutes and the battery will keep all the time, date and wifi settings.There is a handy spirit level on the top of the weather station and the brackets are quite study for mounting to the side or top of a wooden post.So far so good, in the last 10 days it has experienced sub zero temperatures, rain and high winds. It is worth paying the extra to have a wifi connected unit to view your station readings remotely and others from around the world. The 868MHz transmission system is far better than the older 433MHz systems and I've had no connection problems with the base station in the other side of the house from the weather station.After getting over the initial setting up frustrations I highly recommend this unit.

I bought this to satisfy retirement and covid boredom. I have a telescopic pole (40ft) so mounted it on that, albeit i have not put it up that high!The display is quite basic and shows the basic information, and to be fair - from my point of view, it is more of something to fill the mantle-piece instead of an ornament! It does also display the time, so it is useful. It is main powered with the supplied adaptor.The weather station itself is made of plastic and is quite robust. It has the necessary sensors as per the ad, and is lightweight. It can be mounted flat on a fence post, sideways on a chimney stack or vertical on a pole. The various base plates included configure to fit each fitting.Up it went and once i had connected and synced it to the WIFI straight away the screen appeared with readings. I also downloaded the app for my tablet, and phone, and you can log in from a computer to view all of the stats produced from the unit. You can also see other base stations around the area, which is quite.....nerdy.I am not sure it has given me any information that is life changing, but it is interesting to see the various weather facts and figures.

It is compact, in that all components are together as one, which makes mounting easy. Getting it connected is a different story, but eventually it works. However, the biggest shortcomings are easily addressed with proper programming and forethought/imagination.The colour screen looks pretty, but is otherwise just pretty. It does absolutely nothing special, and could just as easily be monochrome. It would be relatively easy to have the display background customisable, or even change on its own based on time of day and weather conditions.The weather forecast is rather iffy at best. Not only does it show a sun at midnight, but it will only indicate rain when the Barometer pressure drops below 1000hPa. Above that it can be pouring with rain for days on end, but it will still only indicate clouds, or even partially cloudy. It would be fairly simple to changed the programme so that if the pressure is above that value, but there has been a rain reading, then it most likely IS raining. Uh-duh!!!And it should also indicate a moon and stars when it night-time, rather than a sun at midnight. If really good then it would even take the moon phases into consideration, which it indicates in any event. So, new moon, only stars, full moon, then obviously there is a moon, unless it is cloudy. Uh-duh!
