Easy to use and clean! It does a very decent job.
It's a nice and easy to use item! It makes me think of being in Brussells! It makes a very decent waffle and it is easy to use without the need to buy a more expensive unit! Excellent value for money spent.

Great Value & Quality! Out-produces any domestic single waffle maker by 170%
After first use, we are very happy with the quality of workmanship, appearance, and apparent durability of this waffle maker! In terms of square inches of waffle produced, it takes just a tad over half the time to double the quantity of waffle you can deliver to the table. This means my wife (and sometimes me) spends a lot less time cooking and a lot more time enjoying our family's breakfast together! The snap-out cooking plates clean easily in the dishwasher and re-install just as easily. The rotation feature is pretty slick, actually, and makes double waffle cooking a breeze. And there's no strain zeroing in on how much batter to pour on. It's pretty forgiving, and the catch-all plate provided actually does do a good job preventing any errant batter drips from hitting the counter. If you get messy, like I do, it is a little more difficult to clean the outside plastic surfaces, but my advice is slow down and be more careful, so you won't have to deal with it. Two things could be improved in my opinion. First, a temperature control would be nice to have, even though clocking time provides more than adequate control of browning. My wife prefers the waffles to be a little crispier which would require a hotter set of plates. Maybe they sell a more expensive version of this unit which has that feature? Second, we need to ensure the snap in-out latch, which keeps the assembly together while rotating, is "IN". We found out very quickly that left "OUT" creates a sort of jamming situation which is not intuitively easy to solve. However, for the money this waffle maker is a really great value and deal! I expect we will get many years of service out of it. One last remark, I wish it were bigger! The only waffle makers that make really big, like 10 inches or so big, waffles are industrial restaurant machines, very expensive! I would have spent more for a jumbo equivalent of the one I am reviewing, had it been available. Anything I have said negative here is nit-picky. It's a fine waffle maker and it makes delicious, tender waffles!

Great Waffles, But Missing Key Features for the Price
I love that the Hamilton Beach Belgian Waffle Maker can make two waffles at once, and the removable, dishwasher-safe plates are a game-changer for easy cleanup. It has a light to indicate when it's preheated, but I was a bit disappointed that there’s no light or alert to tell you when the waffles are done—something even my cheaper waffle maker had. The instructions just say to 'check it' and mention it takes between 3-5 minutes, which requires more attention. There's also no heat control setting, another feature I miss from my previous model. For the price, I would have expected these options. That said, the waffles turned out great with a little extra vigilance. Just be careful not to overfill it, as I learned the hard way when it leaked out the sides!

Easy to Clean
Downside as compared to my old one, it doesn't beep when it thinks your waffles are done. This is not that big of a negative. I think my old one just beeped when it regained temperature. this one, the light goes on when it's reaches temp BUT as with both, the waffles are done when the waffles are done.Highlight 1, the lids lock down. You push in a tab to hold the lids together when you flip to the other side and they STAY together till you unlock them. There was some spreadage and some leaking with thinner batters on the old one.Highlight 2. When you're done and the iron is cool, the drip pan and the waffle grids come off and can go right in the dishwasher to get cleaned. I know the old one was clean, I know because I did all the tedious work with a toothbrush to GET it clean. Now, it's automatic. Just don't use steam or high temp clean/dry. Wash em, take em out and let them air dry. SO NICE.More expensive then the other irons I saw on the market but makes a bigger waffle and can be cleaned. Sure, spend a little more. My last one lasted 15 years. Hardly cost anything at that rate.

Works great
I bought this probably 9 or more months before I finally got it out and used it. I was thrilled to be able to make two waffles at the same time. It worked great; the waffles were well-baked, but not burned, and tasted just like they should. It was easy to use - the instructions on the handle, letting you know which way to turn it to make the second waffle was a big help. Very easy to use and worked well. Would definitely buy it again.
