Believe: A Pop-up Book to Inspire You

I have all of Sabuda's pop-up books, including some commemorative ones. I think I might like this one better than any of the other Sabuda books, with the exception of the white Christmas books. This has simple but complex pop up mechanisms, an oxymoron I know. But once again ,the white pop-up style is stunning and the topics are sophisticated enough for adults as well as children (to read to, not turned loose on 😁).Robert is a master paper engineer and an incredibly talented artist.

Purchased for my 11 year old granddaughter, but it’s a beautiful book for any age. Gorgeous!

This book is a work of art. It inspires anyone who has the privilege of opening it. The artist who created this magnificent piece is a true magician. My only criticism is that the center page is hard to open fully but I think it just needs more careful handling. My granddaughter will have this memorable book for the rest of her life & be able to pass it down to her own children!

It arrived in perfect condition and I love Robert Sabuda's book!

I have most of Sabuda's popups. In this he returns to his roots of designing in all white, which I preferred over the glossy Reinhart years. The book consists of an inspirational saying starting on one plain page and finishing on the next in a sophisticated pop-up such as a field of sunflowers or a castle. Yes it is the most basic of inspirational thoughts but sometimes that is what a person needs. A graduate might appreciate it, but a person who has forgotten their passion may be reminded of a lost dream. I wondered if the author had been through a time of trial and if these were the thoughts that kept him going.As far as the pop-ups go they are classic Sabuda: complex, complete, sophisticated. For a person just learning about the artist this is a primer of his approach. For a long term fan there were no "wow" moments, "just" the usual appreciation of an artist I admire...but no boundary pushing. For Sabuda it is a "safe" creation....another reason I wondered if he has been through a life crisis. If that is the case I hope this is his healing and a warm-up for a...not return as we can't (and perhaps shouldn't) go back as we are changed by life...perhaps a re-creation of his art based on who he is now.I overstep my knowledge in speculating on the background of this piece. He has given me many moments of delight over the years and I hope the best for him and his artistic passion.

This well made encouraging pop up book was great for our 7 year old granddaughter, but would be great for older kids graduating as well.

Maybe not as complicated or as detailed as many of the Sabuda classics I own, but the message is clear and inspiring. Caught me off guard when I realized that it was the perfect gift for everyone, no matter their age. That is why I bought eight more.

Whenever you turn the pages you see a beautiful ART !

I am a keen collector of Robert Sabuda' s pop up books and this beauty did not disappoint. I absolutely love it. Though it is very different in style to his famous Disney inspired books which are highly detailed and colourful. This one is smaller in size and basic in the way he chose to keep white card and a bold background, but certainly can't call it simple. The intricacy of each pop up is incredible, especially the sunflower design on the 2nd page, so intricate and beautiful the way they open as you turn the page.The sentiments just melt my heart, there's a beautiful page where a bucket and spade are shown with the sentiment " When I build my life...." opening the next page reveals an absolutely stunning castle with the words "I will reach high".It's just such a beautiful gift idea, not just for children but for someone you want to give hope to. Believe is the perfect title for this and I'm so pleased I got it to add to my other books. My daughter's will also treasure it for years to come.
