A real page-turner
This was an immersive read from start to finish; with a gripping plot line and hard-to-read characters. Very well written - couldn’t put it down!

Addictive, well written and a must read.
Absolutely addictive! This book had me hooked from the very first page. Would have read it in one sitting if I hadn’t needed to sleep in between.

Entertaining but also meh
Reading the reviews on the cover you'd be forgiven for thinking it's by a Nobel Prize winner in the making. Yeah I'm not sure about that. Completely adequate holiday book; easy to cram in a day, a plot twist that isn't too hard to guess, and some lightweight therapy-speak insights (quotes from and references to actual psychiatrists and therapists are probably the main takeaway, reminding readers of how interesting the field is). The writing itself is fairly basic, with a lot of repetition and clichés. It will make a successful, glossy Netflix movie for sure, but the language is pretty clumsy, the people veer into caricatures, and it's peppered with phrases like "she said, looking at me strangely", "he smiled sadly" etc - not much finesse. Still, if you need a break from reading proper literature and are bored of your phone, it's a pretty decent companion.

Suspence all the way. 👌
A bit hard to follow in places, but an exciting read. Suspense all the. Highly recommend. Will definitely be following this writer.

A good read set in a psych Ward.
This is a book about murder and psychological misdirection. It constructs a descent into the minds of the woman who doesn’t speak and the therapist charged with making her. The story begins as a quest for answers but warps into something more complex as therapy, obsession, and art blur into an unsettling picture. Why does her therapist only have one patient throughout the book, and why do they overlook his obsession with her? What’s the story? It was compelling enough to keep me reading. I’d have liked a more exciting conclusion and thought it was a bit safe, and I found the explanation of ‘A therapist understands this … and a therapist should see that….’ a bit lecturing. But overall, it was a good read. The novel plays with perception, and the narrative keeps the readers off balance enough to question what they think they know. I had two theories—both of them wrong. The final pages deliver the explanation we’ve been waiting for, and it all ties up nicely.I enjoyed it.
