Hayward W3DE3620 ProGrid Diatomaceous Earth DE Pool Filter for In-Ground Pools, 36 Sq. Ft.

Needed to replace my 30 year old filterThis is same manufacturer and a different color but just need to unscrew 2 plastic nuts and set the new in place and tighten those nuts and it was replaced and filtering the pool in about 15 minutes

Our pool has never been so clean!

Filter came quickly and put in my driveway. Note: pool store estimated 4 months before they could get one. It took ten minutes to get it out of the box and screw on the new shut off/on connector purchased with it. Plumber put in for me in 30 minutes after I took out the old one. I did have all the connectors and pvc on hand already. Works great pool is super clear, old one was over 30 years old and going. Was worth every penny.

Ordered the Hayward W3DE3620 Filter. The manual states that backwash valve SPO715XR50 is suppose to fit this filter. Watched some Youtube videos as well of people installing this combination of Filter and Valve.The Filter arrived with two different bulk head fittings. The top fitting is the correct fitting per the filter diagram part number DEX2420F. The bottom fitting however, is wrong and the backwash valve does not fit this fitting. It looks like the fitting is part number C3035F.Long story short, didn't want to pack up the heavy filter and return it so ordered the correct fitting (an additional $30).Replacing the fitting isn't easy as you have to open up and dismantle the filter because the fitting screws into an internal piece, not the exterior shell.Haven't turned used the filter yet, so maybe I will write another review once it is up and running but not a good start Hayward.

I just had this filter delivered and I installed it myself on our pool system. Since it is the successor to the filter I already had, a Hayward DE3600 Micro Filter that was 30 years old, it hooked right up to the existing plumbing. It's a bit lighter than the old one, too, which makes it easier to install. However, the one in the picture was brown. The one I got is all black. It says in the manual to install it out of the sun, and I wonder what a black tank will do when it heats up. The old one cracked from years of pressure expansion. This seems to be a better material, a polymer, so I hope it will last as long as the old one. Today was the first day I turned on the equipment with the new filter. The pressure meter doesn't seem to be working right. All and all, it was delivered a day early, in perfect shape, and looks great. It seems to work fine. I'll update later.

Examined inside of the DE filter before I installed it. Quality product. Easy replacement for old worn filter of the same brand. Lubed the O-rings on multi-port with specified grease and tighten the connectors with an oil filter wrench. Started pump per instructions with DE Filter air valve open. Closed air valve after water came out. Added 5lbs of DE Filter material through the skimmer. Added pool chemicals. Ran the pump for 24hrs. Water is crystal clear.

Product was an exact fit for the replacement of my other filter. It took me 10 minutes to replace it. Be sure and open up filter and inspect the filters. One of them had come loose.

Easy to install and well worth what you paid for. Ran for about 10 hrs and cleared water. Had 3-4 service guys to work on my equipment with out any progress, surprisedly niether one of the guys could of figured out it was a filter issue.
