M**R
Do You want to become a quant?
If Your answer is "Yes", and You have some basic knowledge of math and some experience with financial markets - this book gives You comprehensive and well prepared guideline for making Your goal possible. It could take some time to get through all the details of the math and econometric, but if You take a closer look at the code and examples provided, the skills and knowledge, You will acquire, will become not only theoretical, but fully practical. (Then the next goal for You is: Start a Hedge Fund..... ;) )

Comprehensive finance textbook
Wilmott's book can be thought of as a finance encyclopedia. It covers very large spectrum of points in very accessible manner. I would say that difficulty wise, the book is at the same rung as Hull's book. Nevertheless, it covers more topics and each of them in more depth. I would recomend it for anyone seriously interested in finance.

Please explain the maths
Worth reading for the personal insight of the authour. However, this is not the book to learn the mathematics of quant finance from. If like me you come from a fairly competent maths and weak business background trying to learn the underling equations and theories from this book will drive you nuts. Read Hull where everything is nicely defined and clear (and the graphs have meaningful captions and the axies are labeled!) first then maybe come back to this one.

you only get one book
The title is very confusing as it says Paul Wilmott on Quantitative Finance 2nd Edition: 3 Volume Setbut i got only one book. Book is ok but this is more of a review on the product as such and they should be explicit about which book it is instead of advertising it as a 3 volume set which it isnt
