Good fit
So far, so good. Contrary to other reviews, this part was easy to install, fit perfectly, and seems to be performing just fine. Jury still out on longevity, but at 1/2 price of OEM,, hard to turn down…Update: After 5 days my pool is as clear as it’s been in 3 years. I wouldn’t normally recommend an aftermarket part, but since Hayward decided to replace a $10 gasket with a $70 replacement, they don’t deserve my loyalty anymore.

Perfect Replacement
My filter handle was getting very hard to move. This replacement worked out great and did not have to mess with glueing on a gasket.

Both o-rings are not included and they appear to have gotten rid of the "hole" complained about
It was an exact fit for me. Just take your time and use silicone grease or Jack's lube by Hayward on all the o-rings, spider gasket and handle pivot points. Check out a few Youtube videos if this is your first time. I used two large C clamps to hold the spring down while tapping the pin out. Use soft surface to place the assembly down on to not damage the spider gasket. You will need to reuse one of the two o-rings as it is not included so go easy on removing the old o-rings. Not that big of a deal but they should have said that. Once reassembled there should be very little play in the handle on your bench and no play when it is operating. That will indicate that the spider gasket is fully engaged. Always turn in the same direction when operatingNOTE: I replaced the spider gasket only last season (trying to save $$) but it failed last week. I dumped close to $100 in chemicals not realizing that the failed gasket was preventing water to pass through the sand filter and was just recirculating dirty green water back into the pool. Pool is clearing now with this new part. No leaks from the handle as described by some of the other reviewers where a hole was reported. Good luck!

Good value! It's way simpler than most people have been doing this
I ordered this part in July of 2023. My order came with the 2 black o-rings and the white spacer already installed, it also included a set of spares (2 black o-rings and a white spacer), which the Hayward part does not include and have to be purchased separately at ridiculous prices. So you get all the o-ring plus a set of spares. As far as replacing this part, the process is super easy. TAKE THE PIN OFF THE HANDLE FIRST, remove the handle, and then unscrew the top (do one screw and then the one across from it, continue with that pattern). Make sure you pay attention to the placement of the key you are replacing because you'll have to put the new one back in in the exact same position. Just do the reverse to install the new key. If you follow the steps I just described, you won't need to worry about compressing the springs, the screws do that for you.Tip: If you want it to last a little longer, lubricate the assembly once a year with plumbing grease that can handle rubber and water. It'll also make it operate smoother. My original key lasted a little under 3 years. I'm not sure how long this one will last. Hayward products are not of the best quality anyway, so if this gives me about 3 years, I'm good. I'm not bad mouthing Hayward, I think Pentair is also low quality. These companies seem to make products with a few substandard parts that fail prematurely so that you have to spend more money money replacing the parts.

Working perfectly.
Was time to change the sand in my filter and decided it was probably a good time to replace gaskets and O-rings while I had the filter apart. I ordered everything I thought I needed, but upon disassembly I realized that replacing the spider gasket I ordered was going to be harder than I thought. It is really stuck in there. I was worried I was going to have to replace the entire valve, but I found this part to save me some money. This part comes with O-Rings and the spider gasket installed, as well as some spare O-rings. I was able to replace this along with a new spring and the main valve O-ring in a matter of minutes. Upon reassembly the valve worked better than it ever has. I almost thought I broke something it turned so easily. However everything worked flawlessly when I turned the pool back on.Much better option than spending an hour scraping a gasket out or spending double the money for a new valve.

No instructions
I installed this unit and it fit fine. Nothing told how to put the handle back on. The entire unit and spring need to be compressed to install the pin to attach the handle. I tried everything to compress the spring to install the pinin the handle. Eventually the handle shaft broke and I had to trash the part I just bought. I had to go back and buy the entire new valve for 3 times the money. All it needed was instructions as to how compress the spring and re-install the handle. I would not recommend buying this part.
