With a slight modification to the blade guard thumb-stay/lever, it works phenomenally well on my XSH03 18V brushless 6.5". I had to cut the the blade guard lever so it would have clearance for the Makita 419283-5 Dust Extracting Nozzle, BSS610. I cut off about 3/8" of the thumb lever. Plenty of lever remaining to be effective / usable. Also, keep in mind that the Dust Extraction Nozzle does not come with a screw for securing the nozzle to a saw. Determine the thread pitch (see other reviews) and spend 75 cents on a stainless screw. IIRC, my saw used a 1.25" length. Consider NOT using thread locker (it will melt the plastic dust nozzle). With a Rockwell small-tool vacuum attachment, it collects 98% of the dust. With the auxiliary nozzle and no vacuum, it deflects the dust rear-wards, instead of the factory blade shroud that shoots dust directing into your pants pocket or in your eyes. Definitely worth an experiment, if you're on the fence about a purchase.

Probably not. That particular saw wasn't designed with attachments in mind. The lower guard handle would hit that area.

Q: will this fit the BSS611 6 1/2 circular saw?

I would suspect so. Most all 6 1/2 Makita circular saws have a screw hole near the bottom of the dust port and that’s what you’ll need to secure the Extraction Nozzle. Nice adapter if you want to attach a shop vac hose and eliminate a lot of dust.
