excellent dust collector, AFTER confusion for setup
bought it, took about 2 hours to figure out how to hook it to my angle grinder. directions are not that great, and very little on youtube or elsewhere, for connection.OK, got it connected. it has adjustable depth, AND you set that depth, then open the cover latch, it lets the blade sit higher, to START the cut, then you gradually ease the blade downward, until you reac your desired set-depth, and then the cover locks. then you move forward. the dust collector port faces the FRONT of your grinder, as my picture shows. BUT, once set up, and connected to vacuum, it worked GREAT !. I was cutting tile, about 1/2 inch thick. I started to make cutting passes, because if i cut it at about 3 inches wide, i was able to break it loose from the subfloor, in one piece, without tons of fragments, so i can remove the floor. SO, i started to cut the floor, about every 3 inches, and i am going to do this to the WHOLE floor before removing more tile, so that way we can still use the bathroom. BUT, in doing it this way, the subfloor/masonry is preserved, not fragmented, the tile is lifting off of the mesh where the leveling compound was, and minimal shards of tile !. AND, the vacuum collection works great. very little escaped out hte front of the unit. the tile was BATTERY INTENSIVE, the cuts you see, combined, took 3 of 4ah batteries to do. BUT, as i said, well worth it; it collected 95% of dust; lightly vacuumed floor afterward, then wiped the surrounding areas, and very little red clay on the wet rag. SO, dewalt, put together a beter video of assembling this (it is NOT too difficult once you see how to do it), and you got a great tool AND directions !

Really captures dust
This shroud worked really well. I had to cut some stone back on a fireplace so I built a makeshift tent out of plastic and used this shroud while cutting and no dust at all got out into the room. Very happy with the performance.

When the dust has settled…
Great tool! I needed to re-grout my first floor. The best way to do this within a lifetime was with an angle grinder. This creates a sandstorm instantly. I did some research and found this solution. Went from dust everywhere to no dust at all. It helped too to spray the some water on the grout line as I went.Strongly recommend this for anyone concerned about creating dust on an indoor project. I also recommend looking up the manual online for this shroud to ensure you have a compatible angle grinder.

Amazing tool, impossibly complicated execution
Been using this tool to trim thin brick, mounted to mesh, to decorate my office. After about 1 solid hour of trying to adapt this contraption to my DeWalt 60v (Model DCG418B) grinder, I managed to get it working with a 4 1/2" diamond cutoff wheel. This is the most over-engineered, add on device I've ever seen DeWalt produce. Plunge cuts are VERY difficult as you can't see the blade at all, it's safely tucked under the cover about 3" from either end. Straight cuts were a pleasure. Now let's talk about DeWalt's vacuum attachments, I appreciate the DeWalt quick disconnect, that part was incredibly easy...however, good luck finding ANY adapter on the planet that will adapt a DeWalt 1-7/8 hose (dust collector) to their quick disconnect. I finally designed and 3D printed an adapter and then ran into another 1-7/8 hose anomaly...trying to adapt to the DeWalt 2-1/2 "shop vac" hose. I again, had to design another adapter to get them to connect. Absolutely ridiculous, step it up DeWalt. Try hosting a little R&D pizza party and get all the tool guys and all the vacuum guys in the same room and make everything connect to each other. If a guy at home can figure it out...there's hope for DeWalt.

Great for dust control
Fantastic, contains my dust as expected.

Offset issues
Blade doesn’t offset as much As I like when using flexvolt grinder even with the offset nut that they sent me. As a result the blade rubs against the plastic and foot of the tool, other than that the tool works well with my flex volt hepa vac

Just get it, you’ll be glad you did
I was tempted by the cheap knockoff versions but know the value of “buy once, cry once”... this dust shroud is amazing. When set to the deepest cut, the only slight bit of dust was as the blade plunged into the block wall I was cutting out. Once the shoe of the shroud contact the surface there was absolutely no dust. On top of there being no dust, this shroud acts as a safety against any flying debris. So glad I purchased this. *** I didn’t buy the hose adapter, I used tape to connect my shop vac hose but in the future will use an appropriately sized Fernco fitting (get them in the plumbing section of Home Depot... 1 1/2 inch coupling should work perfect).
