unuseable
I've been using nail white pencils for years. The Sally Hansen nail white pencils were very good. This brand is not really unuseable. The white lead is so soft that it keeps breaking and crumbling as you work to sharpen the pencil. If you finally do get a point on the lead, as soon as you try to use it, the lead breaks off and you have to try to try to sharpen it again. I'm very dissapointed.

It works! A clean, subtle, natural look.
The media could not be loaded. I don't understand the bad reviews at all. I'm so glad I decided to try it for myself. The pics are of my left hand after using the whitening pencil and my right hand without. It's pretty clear - the pencil does what it's supposed to do. My nails look cleaner and brighter. I think if you're wanting them to look French Manicured, you will be disappointed. All this does is brighten up the underside of the tips. Maybe it only works if you actually have some nail tips that the pencil can actually get up under? For what it is, I think it did a great job. I ran hot water over the tip of the pencil first. I don't know if that helped, but I am happy with the result.Edit: it's been 3 days now and I still love the look. Added a video for reference.

Pencil is fine but is not what I expected
Pencil doesn’t bring the white as it should. The item arrive on time.

They get the job done
They get the job done, easy to use. The cores break easily, so they need to be sharpened a lot.

Thank Goodness These are Still Sold
Some people have never heard of white pencils, and it is a pity. They are invaluable! Wet the tip, run it under your nails, and they look (and are) immaculate. Men use them, too. They're great when you don't want to ruin your manicure by scrubbing with a nail brush. Wash your hands, use the pencil, and your nails look fresh. The review: The pencils are as good as any I've ever used, and the value is very good.

These are a dud.
I've used white nail pencils for years to keep the free edge of my nails white since I don't have good luck keeping my nails polished. I used to buy them locally at Sally but they don't carry them any longer so I tried these. Unfortunately, they're a dud. To get really good results with a white pencil, you use it when your nails are slightly damp, you run the white under your nails and it coats the underside of your nail in an almost powdery white coating. The white material in these pencils is very waxy, as opposed to powdery, so when you run it under your nails (wet or dry) it doesn't deposit any white color at all. I tried sharpening them, to see if perhaps the waxiness was just a temporary coating, but it's not. They just don't work. Bummer.

White neither stays on top nor bottom, clumps too soft and shear
I used to have one of these from sally hanson that I loved. I tried this one because there were three and the caps were little cuticle pusher thingies which I was also going to buy. But I wish I had gotten the cool multi colour tool and the brand name that onky came with one pencil ✏️ because the white lead is so soft that it crumbled. I even out it on the top of my mail and the bottom to try and whiten it that way but it just smushed the pencil. I may try to use these in art work because they’re not really very good as mail pencils. They’ve cheapened out a lot in the past decade unfortunately. After wasting 5mm of pencil lead for 10 fingers of Very short nails (guitar player short ) they weren’t staying white anymore. It’s just not durable and essentially renders this product pointless if it doesn’t do the one thing it ought to. Whiten a sliver of mail front or bottom. It just gets a glob of white that falls off. I remember a decade ago when I did this it didn’t look like I used a white pencil, I just looked like I had sparkly white nails. Now I Looks like I rubbed pencil all over my dumb nails…cuz I did. Guess I lucked out that this came with a cuticle pushed cap 🙄 1.75 stars rounded up to barely 2 stars.
