Easy to install and worked right off the bat!

Perfect fit, corrected my problem with our water heater not firing up on propane. Be aware that the two screw holes that mount the valve to the water heater bracket are not threaded. I used my old screws and took my time tapping them into the new holes. I did this prior to attaching the valve to the water heater. Fired up the first attempt, happy with the results.

I had purchased a replacement gas valve that leaked (cheaper Chinese product, I am refraining from naming names). I returned it for a replacement. The replacement also leaked. THEN I ordered this one. It works flawlessly, arrived quickly and the price was only a couple dollars more than my first purchase. Not worth the hassle of two returns. Save your sanity, get this one!

I took out the old one and this one fit perfectly. Very easy to put in yourself, I took a picture with my phone just in case something came up in the middle of the installation so I could recall what wires went where.

See UPDATE Below.This was a direct replacement for the 12 year old valve on my Suburban water heater. It had a very slow leak and would allow gas to pass through the solenoid valve and out the burner orifice. Installation was easy and straight forward. People have mentioned the holes for the bracket are not tapped (no threads). Please note that the OEM screws are self tapping (they will cut the threads as you screw it in).My problem... After install and confirming operation all was well...until we realized the valve was leaking. Spraying the valve orifice with soapy water a tiny bubble would form. This would happen hours after the heater had been off. It was also checked with an LP gas sniffer. It would set the sniffer off indicating a tiny gas leak. All other appliances are working fine and no leaks have been found. I am returning this unit and reordering another one. I'm leaving in 5 days for a 29 day trip in the camper. Hopefully the second time will be the charm. I will update my review based upon the performance of the replacement unit.I do understand that sometimes new items do not function properly...just hoping that is the case here.UPDATE: Amazon send me a replacement (yes, I returned the defective unit) for the defective valve. Again, installation was straight forward. Thankfully this one did NOT leak. We have traveled over 18,000 miles and 135 nights in the camper since this was installed. I rechecked the valve with my LP leak detector and it remains leak-free. For all of this, I have updated my review from a 1 star to a 4 star. Thanks!

One of the electrical solenoids went out on my last valve. This was a fast and cheap fix. So far, works good.

I was getting soot build up on the burner for the water heater. I replaced the burner and it worked great for a while but then started again. I noticed the flame was staying lit sometimes like a pilot light which was causing the soot. The solenoid wasn't closing fully on the old valve. Replaced the valve and burner again, not a single issue since.
