ZWILLINGJ.A. Henckels Extra Large 22 Slot Design Hardwood Knife Storage Block

After years of using the smaller version of this knife block., I really needed a larger version of a knife block so as to allow me to have more room.I ordered this version and I am very pleased. At first glance, the block is much bigger than my 15 slot (? version), and I thought there was no way the knives would fit in the individual slots. However, everything I had fit very well, including a chef knife, Santoku knives and various other accouterments. I love the fact that the scissors are out of the way on the left and also that there is juts room for grabbing things easily without much thought. The wood does seem treated as well so I will update this with an expectation of any water damage or anything similar.This is just a block of wood, so the piece itself is nice, heavy and well thought out. However, the best part is the slots that are there and the ability to have all my knives in one pace and convenient stored for once. The slots accommodate longer carving knives and also the main slot will take a large cleaver for those romantic nights watching The Shining or Psycho (lol).Great item and should accommodate most kitchens.

After moving in with my fiancee, we went through the arduous process of melding two households into one. One of the things both of us had were high end J.A. Henckels knives that both of us purchased while stationed in Germany. I also had a cheapo set of everyday knives that were ultimately donated. So, we had all these knives, but only a knife block for 8 knives.... So what do we do? Luckily, Amazon sells the Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin 22-Slot Knife Storage Block for a really good price! We originally debated between this block and the Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin 26 slot Bamboo Swivel Blockbut the swivel was the deal breaker. When I received the package, I was thankful we didn't go with the 26 slot block because this thing is absolutely HUGE! I just really hadn't expected it to be that big. That's not a negative, just stating that it's a lot larger than I thought it would be.Other than that, the block has all of the slots I need, and I even bought the matching steak knives for my set to go along with the new knife block. It's very sturdy and holds everything nicely. If I had to give a con for the knife block, the only thing I could come up with is that it does not cook, chop, or cut for you... But it sure does look pretty sitting on the counter!

This is a nice heavy knife block. It accommodated all my knives except one; I used two large chopping knives and only one would fit. I like that you can fit kitchen shears in a slot.

This is a large, solid hardwood (beech, I believe) Henckels-Zwilling 22-slot knife block. The lower three knife slots (not the steak knife slots) are a little narrower than wished for. Overall, an excellent piece (perhaps a little too large a footprint, but you can't have it both ways).I was disappointed in the shipping; the knife block came in its H-K product box, inside a slightly larger Amazon-Prime box - with absolutely no cushioning, just rattling around in that box for its 4-week delivery period. The knife block suffered a bump on at least one corner. The H-K box was quite scuffed and bumped - see attached photo. In the same Amazon-Prime box with the knife block was a package of Henckels steak knives in a plastic package - again with no cushioning. One of the steak knife handles arrived broken as a result.

I ordered this Zwilling J.A. Henckels Extra Large 22 Slot Design Hardwood Knife Storage Block to accommodate the knives I had in my smaller block as well as some from a drawer and a couple of new ones.I really like that this block has storage space for my steak knives. 8 slots total.It has places for both a sharpening steel as well as kitchen shears.There is an extra-long slot at the top, perhaps for a small meat cleaver. I use this space for some of my rubber handled knives.As for the color and type of wood, the description says it’s beech wood and the color in the photo looks darker and more variegated than what I actually received. In my experience, I would say that this looks to be made of rubber wood and the tone is much lighter than the photo. Also, there is hardly any color variegation in my block. That being said, it does go quite well with my natural maple cabinets.Note that the block says “Zwilling” and not “Zwilling J.A. Henckels”. It has a double-man logo, which normally signifies better quality and higher-end than the single-man logo.This knife block is Made in China.Overall, I am very pleased with this block. It’s the perfect size for what I was looking for, and since I do have (single-man) J.A. Henckels knives, I like how everything is pretty much the same brand. Perhaps one day I will be able to upgrade to a (double-man) Zwilling German made knife set to fully match!

I needed more slots in my knife block for recently purchased knives. I love that this had additional slots for my steak knives. My knives were kept on the counter for easy access but it looked sloppy and wasn’t safe. I’m thrilled with quality and weight of the wood as well as the finish. Reasonably priced for the brand. As you can see from my pics everything fits nicely! Highly recommend!

I had bought the 9 piece Pro S set about 6 months ago and it's been great but for some reason the holder it comes in only has 6 steak knife slots. I bought this one which has 8 spots so should be easier to fill without empty space or with spares lying somewhere else. There's enough space above to hold all the pieces I have already plus those I want to add such as the Cleaver and Bread Knife. Good and solid block as well and looks great!

I had an old Henckels knife block, but it was getting long in the tooth and there was no place for steak knives, so I bought this. The Henckels kitchen scissor we use doesn't fit, and the big fork for dissecting a turkey doesn't fit, but everything else does.
