It's a scratchy pen which makes the sketching feel more wholesome. The reverse side of the nib allows for a pretty fine line (almost extra fine). The regular side of the nib works more like a 0.6, not very fine but again if you're illustrating, its great for filling space.Regarding the body, it feels great. It's metallic, its a rich black and it's heavy. It's nicely thickened right above the chrome grip, which makes for an ideal gripping point. I had mixed feelings regarding the chrome parts( I'm an all black fan, plus I thought the chrome parts might reflect too much light and hurt my eyes) but once it arrived, I realized that it just goes. Handsome would a good word to describe it.If you write slow, this fine nib will be ideal for you. If you're all about speed and efficiency, go for the medium nib.The only 2 downsides to it are that --it doesnt come with an ink converter. You get 3 cartridges in total-it's a bit of an ink guzzler. But that's fine honestly, ink pens are meant to be refilled.End verdict- absolute bang for the buck. You get way more than you've paid for in terms of a pen and packaging (it's a damn sturdy magnetic snap shut type of box). A very premium experience for a low price. Can see myself building a long relationship with it.

Let me first point out some issues which others have mentioned- which fortunately I didn't come across. So the pen -1. writes smooth. Don't expect Pilot type smoothness but Way lot smoother than Luxor made Parker available in India. Most of my Parker pens are rotting in my desk. All scratchy.2. slightly on the heavier side. More so when cap is posted obviously. But feels sturdy and well built.3. the supplied cartridge fits perfectly. Those complaining leakiness maybe didn't fix it properly in the first place. I even dropped it once but cartridge never came off. I have not yet tried other cartridges or converters.4. It's not slippery to write unless your hands are all sweaty and dripping.5. Yes it writes somewhat fast. Faster than Parker pens for sure.6. The Nib mentions Fine - but writes Medium.7. Flow is decent, without hiccups or bleeding.8. Not ornate but very simple in looks, including Nib.9. But it's an overpriced product.Unfortunately it's chinese made and more unfortunately Amazon thinks basic product like a fountain pen cannot be manufactured in India, so almost all of AmazonBasics products are chinese manufactured which Amazon sells in Indian market.

Its really a very good fountain pen ..using it since last 8-10 days....no any issues....ink flow superb...1. nib quality with fine tip -its good . No scratching at all. Literally glides on paper..2.Built quality- medium3. Overall pen size - medium...no issues for students or person with smaller hands4. Built Material- poor..not for rough n tough use5. Value for money- pricing on a bit higher side6. Weight- light weight (i personallydon'tlike light weight pens)7. Looks- good

This note will only add to the thousands of very positive reviews that the Amazon Basics fountain pen deservedly acquires. For INR ₹500, this pen is a steal. The quality of manufacture and finish are flawless, and the nib, in this case Fine, was exactly as described by many others: smooth. The metal pen has a good heft without being too heavy and can be used for long writing sessions. In fact, after buying two of these in Fine nibs, I bought two more but in the Medium nib option. Fine or Medium, both are equally smooth and equally delightful to use. And have far more value than their asking price.

The Pen is genuinely nice at a very affordable price and Nib is also incredibly good. The only problem that I am facing is that the grip is very slippery and it's not giving a skillful writing experience. If something can be done with the grip, this will be exceptionally good.

I was a bit apprehensive when I placed the order. All the reviews on internet speak good of this pen. However, my doubts vanished the moment I wrote with it. The build quality is excellent. The nib is devoid of any designs and has only F marked on it, indicating a Fine nib. It is more of a European Fine. I assume it'll be around 0.3mm to 0.4mm. The clip has Amazon Basics engraved on it without which this pen could easily have been mistaken for a much more expensive pen. I use a Lamy Safari which costs 7 times this pen and writes almost the same.No converter is included in the package. There are three cartridges present and I'll have to refill them using a syringe. They are small in size and will need frequent refilling. I tried with the converters I have with me. Parker and Jinhao converters weren't fitting properly. I'll have to look for some other converters.And another thing, I am going to get more of these pens for my different inks!

Going by some good reviews, I bought this pen. I like to buy good pens and was looking for a good fountain pen with fine nib. I have a Waterman, but the nib is thicker than my liking. Generally I found Amazon basics products as good. But this one is simply waste of money. The nib of the pen is really really bad. It's very rough while writing, ink flow poor. The only good thing the pen body which looks elegant. But what's the point when you can't use it to write. You get cheaper pens like Hauser which my daughter uses sometimes in her school and they are much better than this one and will cost less than 20% of this pen. Pen lovers, don't buy it or even not worth taking it for free.
