Stunning kettle
Bought this kettle as a gift for my girlfriend, and we both love it. As with all Le Creuset products the build quality is great and the finish is absolutely stunning. Handle and spout cover/whistle feel amazing in-hand. Definitely built to last.Only complaint is that the sticker on the bottom left some adhesive residue that never came off, even after multiple cleanings before the first use. This led to a discolored square on the bottom of the kettle. Obviously not a huge deal, since you're not often looking at the bottom, but still a bit of a disappointment given how nice the finish is.

Super nice tea kettle!
I looked at so many tea kettles before I settled on this one, then reading other reviews I was confused. I followed my gut and am really glad I did. Now that I own the tea kettle I am really confused at the problems other reviewers were having. I have absolutely no problem getting the lid off and on, the handle hasn't burned me once (and I have used it a lot). The handle folds down out of the way with ease and the whistle is plenty loud that I hear it while watching tv. The color is beautiful, I purchased it in red and the size is nice. Also the whistle on the end of the spout is solid, I flip mine up and down and there is no sign of it breaking or loose. I could not be happier, I love this tea kettle.

Water heats quickly.
It’s a beautiful color and looks very nice on my stove. Handle does not get hot. Steam does leak from the top, but perhaps it’s engineered to do that to relieve pressure. The whistling isn’t that loud, but loud enough I suppose. Cleans up nicely as well. I bought it on sale and would not recommend paying full price!

You Don't Always Get What You Pay For
There are basic things that a tea kettle should do:- heat quickly and evenly- keep the handle cool enough to use- whistle when boiling- pour elegantlyThis kettle is on the more expensive side. But I'd had good experiences with the brand so I shelled for it. Bad mistake. It heats well enough, but the handle is "too hot to handle" after boiling unless you had remembered to put it way down to the side, the whistle is nearly silent, and when you pour the hot kettle it literally sputters all over the countertop/cooktop.There are far better products for a lot less.

Adorable and well made; worth every penny!
I almost didn't buy this because of the rather plentiful negative reviews, but as far as I am concerned, those reviews are totally unfounded. This kettle is adorable and high quality. In my opinion, this kettle is worth the price. I've owned it for a few months now, and there are no leaks, cracks in the enamel, or other issues to speak of. Some other reviewers noted that the whistle is quiet, which is true, but it is still audible from a couple rooms away. I wouldn't go down into the basement and expect the hear the whistle, but as long as you remember that you've got water on the stove it's not a problem. The lid fits tightly, but it is not difficult to remove. The handle does not get hot, even when the kettle has been on high heat. I've recommend this kettle to several friends and family members already. It's a beautiful addition to my kitchen.

Beautiful but not 100% perfect
I'm a collector of kettles and I bought this one to add some color to my country kitchen. It is a beautiful piece but slightly smaller than the average kettle. It holds 1 1/4 quarts of water so will give you 2 -3 mugs of coffee or fill an average sized tea pot. If I could have found a larger version to this I would have preferred it.The color of the kettle, though beautiful, is not the same as in the picture. It is dark maroon on the bottom and gently grades into a bright cherry red at the top.I'm not sure why people complained about the workmanship of this kettle because I find it to be extremely sturdy and well made. I use mine about six times a day so I do not dry mine in between uses and it has never chipped. The handle becomes hot right after the water has been boiled so you will need to use an oven mitten to lift and pour your water. This however, is the case with most kettles. If you wait roughly one minute, the handle cools enough for you to lift and pour without the use of a mitten. The lid is quite stiff when you first open your kettle but definitely not difficult to open. You also have the option of filling the kettle through the spout as it is large enough.I own a gas stove, so due to the small size of this kettle, I have to turn the flame down so that the flames go directly under the pot and not on the sides of it. This helps reduce chipping and keeps your kettle looking newer, longer. This might also prevent the problem of the handle melting, that some people seem to have encountered. The handle stands upright so it should never melt.My main disappointment with this kettle is that the whistle is so quiet. I would have purchased the Paula Deen kettle with out a whistle if I had known how softly this one would whistle. I only hear it if I am in the same room or the one next to it.Overall it is a beautiful kettle that is perfect for a small kitchen and small tea breaks but the color is misleading and the whistle leaves much to be desired.

Quality kettle
The media could not be loaded. It looks very nice on my stove, very sleek, attractive and stylish. It’s not loud loud, but it would get my attention from across by 1900 square foot house. Good quality and seems very well made and sturdy. Heats water within a hot minute.

So sturdy for something so pretty!
I love love LOVE this kettle. It’s very sturdy, but very pretty. I’ve been using it on a gas stovetop since Christmas and it holds up beautifully!
