Best RV Toilet out there - bar none!
This is, without a doubt, the best investment we've ever spent on our RV! We had the old Aqua-Magic IV, from Thetford, and though it still worked (kinda - not so hot on the seal to hold water in the bowl anymore, though), it was just too short, too 'plasticy', too - yeah, that 5-gallon bucket feeling was just ever-too-present.My wife decided she wanted a 'porcelain bowl' toilet to replace it with, but I was really balking at a lot of the prices I was seeing on them. We have other Dometic products in our RV, so I thought, hey, let's try out their Sealand toilets with the porcelain bowl, see how they are. Well, let me tell you, other than that 'OMG, can you believe that black water tank smelled that bad' effect of uncorking the old Thetford, the swap went like a charm. Biggest problem I had was the water-line short-length, which was all due to the way our RV is made. I ended up having to take the old PEX knife, cut the hose, then do this funky 3-elbows and a new screw-fitting deal, just to make it all fit again (because of my RV's strange PEX line and it's inherent angle problem). As for the Sealand 310? Installation went great. My floor and floor flange was in great shape, so all I had to do was black-bag the old Thetford, clean the floor flange (REMEMBER TO SAVE A GALLON OF WATER FOR THIS EFFORT, before you start), and bolt the new Sealand down. The Sealand comes with a new flange compression gasket, so all you need is the incoming water screw-knuckle (1/2" BC/MIP fitting, available at your local ACE Hardware) and some pex elbows and 1/2" straight pex (I think I used a total of about a foot of pex, to fix that stupid water line angle my RV mfg left me).The Sealand toilet sits HIGH for me, I'm 6'2", and to me, it feels about an inch taller than most commercial toilets you might run into in public. My wife is 5'2", and says it is GREAT and she no longer feels like she is 'sitting on the floor' using the toilet. Go figure, guess it depends on what you are looking for in a seat height. I have to say, it sits like a REAL HOUSE TOILET, far better than the Thetford. I would NEVER own another Thetford after trying this baby out. It flushes with power, like a real house toilet. The bowl 'swirl' cleans as good as a household toilet. The foot pedal is GREAT, you don't have your nose stuck 2-inches from the dump valve, and a toe-touch allows a fast clean-water refill too. The seat is cheap plastic, but hey, it is the real deal if you want to go to the big box store and get A REAL LID to put on, instead. Just be careful with taking off that lid, as part of that thumb sticking up in the back is the cover for the water valve area. Proceed with caution, but a real wooden or hard-plastic store-bought lid will fit there (the small circle lids, not the big industrial oval types).Run, don't walk away from the Thetford toys. This is a NICE UNIT, and Sealand has a new dedicated customer.

The Best Toilet For The Price!
SUMMARY: I purchased a used RV from someone and they didn't take very good care of it so I have been remodeling it, I got everything done and the bathroom was last. The toilet the previous owners had in there had stains on it and it wouldn't hold water.. I could not get the stains off of it so I decided to look for a budget replacement toilet and let me tell you.. This thing is amazing. The quality is top notch, it has a nice clean porcelain bowl with a very unique, innovative, and effective flushing technique.INSTALLATION: The installation was very straight-forward, you make sure to SHUT OFF your water line outside and flush out any water that may be left in the lines. Unscrew the bolts on your old toilet (make sure you have old towels/newspapers ready) and set it on an old towel or newspapers so it doesn't drip onto your floor. Then take out the old rubber seal on the flange which will be still already bolted to your floor. The Dometic 310 Series has a seal pre-installed so you don't have to worry about it, just set it onto the bolts and tighten it snug, alternating side to side as you tighten to ensure an even seal. And now the slightly more difficult part: (for me at least) I had a hard time getting the water line to connect, as my old toilet had the valve a bit lower and the water line in my trailer was not flexible at all I measured the distance and the new toilet had a valve just 2 inches higher. So I went to the Home Depot and bought a few elbows for 40 cents a piece and was able to make that work quite easily. That's all it took :)All in all: I highly recommend this product, for the price it just cannot be beaten, the quality of it is outstanding and a very well designed product by Dometic.

Great Toilet
I just installed this beautiful Dometic Bone Toilet in my Travel Trailer that is being remodeled. . I was worried that their would not be enough clearance behind the toilet, but it fit in the original space without modification. I was also concerned as there is a large unsightly vent beside the old toilet -- no worries the new Dometic fit just right beside this intruding pipe. The toilet bowl IS porcelain, large and good looking with angular water ports all around the rim to swirl it clean with each flush. The base is plastic, but heavily built. The lid and seat are plastic -- here is the one place that I wish they had put in a solid quality seat instead of a thinish plastic one with ribs underneath. The seat is usable and will probably last a while, but such a beautiful unit deserves a deluxe seat! The seat should have made this a 4-star review, but I won't let this dampen my satisfaction with this product. The floor pedal flush is also deluxe. The connection for the water supply at the back is for a standard home faucet fitting not a toilet fitting -- no teflon tape is required for a watertight connection. Included is also a sprayer like one would find with a bidet -- VERY useful for hygiene when camping. This unit is about 4" higher than my old toilet and is much more comfortable! Now we will see how it holds up.
