Worked for me but did need to be programmed!
We installed this on our 2010 Mercedes GL450 and it worked after programming. Our mechanic has a newer Snap On computer diagnostic tool and was able to program the device. We had an error saying don't shift gears, go directly to service shop but it happened while the car was parked so we couldn't move it. The dealer wouldn't sell us the part, they'd only install it themselves but we didn't want to go to the dealer or tow it in park. After install the car wouldn't start but once the device was programmed everything works as it should. The programming looked simple, there was a mode on the computer which asked you to put the car in park, drive, neutral and reverse and then it just worked. I was afraid that we would need info off the old device but unfortunately it was totally dead so we couldn't communicate with it and didn't need anything from it anyway. There were cheaper options on Amazon but this was the only one with reviews that said it worked. We're happy so far!

Fixed!
I'm another lucky one, I was however prepared to program/recalibrate the unit if needed. 2007 R320 CDI, did not unhook battery removed old unit, cleared codes, replaced with this unit, put prop shaft back in place. Started right up, tried drive, didn't work, tried reverse, didn't work, hit park button, was already in park so nothing happened. Hit drive again, went in drive, hit reverse, went in reverse, then back to park. Plug and play for me! Keep in mind this isn't the norm folks
