I was surprised at how heavy the blower is, all metal and not cheap plastic. Easy to install and fairly quiet.

My 30 year old fireplace insert never had a blower, but the initial installers ran 120v power to the internal gang box, so setup was pretty easy for me.-To fit the blower in, I had to remove the front cover on the fireplace.-Wiring was easy, but initially I misplaced the magnetic thermostat on the insert's shell, not the firebox itself where it can sense more accurately and start the fan faster/run longer.-My insert came with an ungrounded 2-prong outlet, and the fan came with a grounded 3-prong cord, so I had to use an adapter and make my own ground connection to the insert's metal body. (make sure you use a multimeter to ensure the body is grounded)-I used small zip ties to keep the cables together and away from the hot areas-The fan speed rotary dial requires a very small flathead screwdriver to attach it to the fan speed controller unit.Took about 2.5 hours for me to finish, it could go much faster depending on your experience and parts/tools on hand. Fan starts after ahout 5 mins of fire, runs for about 45 mins after the fire stops in the thermostat's current location, I can move it lower on the firebox to reduce the post-fire runtime. If the thermostat dies early from the heat, I saw them on Amazon for under $10 and it takes less than 5 minutes to swap.

That said, it's a low cost offering (however, it may actually be the exact same product offered by the OEM) that works once one understands how to install it.WHAT DO I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT? I love that it makes our fireplace more efficient and beyond a sight to see. It actually pushes warm/hot air into the room, instead of having it build-up under the mantle.WHAT WAS ODD ABOUT THIS PRODUCT? Installation directions were not great and could be better. However, I was able to look at the instructions for other offerings of the same type, and figured out what I needed to do. In my case, I needed a jumper wire for the electrical connections.

The install was quite easy in our Quadra-Fire fireplace. The fireplace takes 2 fan units. We ordered 1 fan with kit and 1 fan only. Now we have a quiet fireplace and lots of nice warm air blowing from the fireplace.

Works well. A bit hard to bit hard to get in the back but doable

Installation took less than 10 minutes for my fireplace. Unit runs quietly.
