Absolutely Awesome !!!
This rapier is finely constructed. It's elegant, polished and well made. The blade is firm and it makes an excellent display piece. I'd originally purchased it as an accessory for my "Pirate Prince Costume, but I now plan to prominently display it year-round. It far exceeded my expectations for the price at which I was able to obtain it.

the cost is good for the quality and design and it is difficult ...
Firstly, this is a rapier and it costs less than $100. It is part of a style of swordsmanship that includes foils, epees, and rapiers. This is NOT, nor have they ever been a weapon for hacking and chopping. This weapon is made for thrusting and the occasional slash, as with all rapiers. So, if you are a novice and not skilled in these weapon styles, then no, this is not really a weapon for you as it requires a much more elegant technique. Secondly, the cost is good for the quality and design and it is difficult to find a weapon that costs similar that is any better. I have a multitude of weapons that cost cheap like this.... to, well, swords that cost much more. Thirdly and finally, in the hands of a skilled swordsman this seemed to be a fun weapon to play with. The weapon itself is aesthetically pleasing and its guard is not cumbersome, and is more of a basket design. You can easily finger the cross member for more of the "gun trigger" style. The blade is long but it is quite a bit more flexible than what I prefer but not really bad. The blade does NOT have a sharpened edge, and I do not think this steel could hold a functional one. However, the tip is pointed and could puncture flesh easily. My rapier did have a slight bend in the blade, not very much of one though and definitely not very noticeable. Everything else looked perfect and there were no scratches or marring anywhere on the rapier itself nor the scabbard. The weld points on the guard were clean and not noticeable, and the hilt was faux leather with a wire wrapping, and is well done. The heft of this rapier in general is quite good and can hold up to close bashing strikes. Now, I will reiterate this once more, it is a rapier and one that costs less than $100. Do not expect this to protect you or your life. I am not saying that in the skilled hands of a trained swordsman, it won't but I wouldn't. For basic practice and for ren-faires, this weapon is very good. Have fun and be careful...

Eh...It's OK
If you are looking to pay $100 for this sword and expected good quality, then I would look elsewhere. It is a costume/decorative piece at that. I bought it for a Halloween costume and I wasn't expecting to much from it. The handle was poorly wrapped, one of the cross-guards was bent, but I could straight it with a couple of hits from a hammer. As other reviews mentioned the welds that put together the hilt are not that great, and the scabbard is definitely something to be desired. Over-all this is a good costume piece that will look cool hanging from your belt, but not anything of quality.

Beautiful and sturdy!!
Most of the negative reviews seem to be a product of shipping, not quality. This sword is BEAUTIFUL! The point is not sharp, so it reduces the possibility of accidental stabbing. The weight is perfect - great heft but easy to wield and control. My only issue is that the scabbard has no clip to attach it to a belt frog. If you remove the sword from the scabbard, the scabbard will drop. But, if you’re interested in cosplay, this is definitely an amazing choice!

Cheap, and very well made.
I bought this rapier as a gift to a family member, and I was very pleased at its arrival as there were no dents or marks. Note, this is a sword one would wear with a costume, or hang on a wall for a collection. It is not an authentic rapier. It looks gorgeous, feels sturdy enough, and has a great design. If you are planning on getting a Musketeer costume, or want a cheap, but good looking sword for a collection. I highly recommend this.

Meh
The tip was said to be sharp, but it is very much rounded. The blade is thicker than I imagined, but not a negative there and it is a nice length. The scabbard is a flimsy piece of wood, but it does the job and looks appealing.Overall will serve its purpose (costume decoration), but does not seem to be worth the money spent.

Great !!
first i noticed the sword was surprisingly light. it was not sharp except the tip of the sword ..even then it pierced a pinto bean can with little effort .. the welds are not perfect but only noticeable if you look closely ..handle is sturdy with a nice grip the steel blade is strong and i did use it for sparing and it handles perfectly at least for me overall i am very happy with this sword and believe its worth the money ^_^
