Great Value
Used to burn blue ray discs to .iso file to use with media player. Working great so far. Using with laptop, very fast. You need video burning software toburn Blu-rays.

Up all night getting this to work
To cut a long story short. My computer should be compatible. But it says no matter what I do that Intel Software Guard cannot be enabled or it work work, whatever. I tried everything. Even reinstalled Windows and updated the bios to the latest version. All the newest drivers from windows update. Nothing worked. And it says SGX is activated.I found this firmware called LibreDrive and now I can actually use this to Play UHD 4k. I was able to just flash the firmware directly with the flasher tool. All of this was on a website for MakeMKV. So now the included PowerDVD software will play the movie even though it still says SGX isn't working. The drive firmware is no longer asking for it I guess. I'm still figuring this stuff out myself. I hope this helped somebody.

So far it can play Blu-ray
So far I can play Blu-ray Discs but I am unable to burn my home vacation video to 50Gb Blu-Ray discs. I blame on Windows 10, which seems to block most disk write due to video encoding. However, I will try again after upgrading my latest Intel HW system to the latest Windows 11.

Burns well and quick
I owned a prior version of an LG Blu-ray/DVD/CD burner which I dropped causing the mini-usb connector to become dislodged from the internal circuitry. I'm currently burning my 6th DVD disk (Zoom worship services for distribution to our shut-ins without internet access) and I find this device quick, quiet, and easy to use. I must admit that I have not yet installed the accompanying software, but will do so today to see how I can improve my recordings. I'm excited to try the M-disk format. All

Plays Blu-rays Fine After Purchasing Some Reasonably Priced Software
Plays Blu-rays Fine After Purchasing Some Reasonably Priced Software. It said my screen is not compatible but it is. I have 2 screens connected and my secondary screen is not compatible. I turned duplicate screen off and started Blu-ray with the main screen, then turned the duplicate on and I can watch the movie on both screens.

M-Disc issue on MacOS
Does not work as advertised. Bought product specifically for making M-Disc archival recordings using a late-2014 (i7 Intel-based) Mac Mini running MacOS 12.3.1. The drive itself, the software (for Windows 10 only), the USB cable and the included M-Disc were all packaged well and were apparently new. Installed the drive on the Mac mini and cabled it to two high-current USB ports. No difficulty reading a number of prerecorded data CDs. Loaded the included M-Disc to prepare for recording. However, the drive after several cycles eventually ejected the M-Disc. Repeated the procedure twice more, same result; will return to Amazon.

Cyberlink Software OUTDATED!
The drive itself works fine. However, the Cyberlink software that is bundled with it does not. This bundle includes "PowerDVD 18" along with a Media Suite of other Cyberlink products. Blu-ray discs with this software will not play on my brand new LG laptop with Windows 11 installed. The error message I get is that my system does not have the correct graphics card drivers installed, even though there is a "Disc Advisor" function that comes with this bundle that tells you if your system is capable of Blu-ray playback, and it says all is well "enjoy your blu-rays." After installing every updated driver I can find for my graphics card, still no luck! After calling customer support for both Cyberlink and LG, I am being told that basically, the bundle was a trial version and is now outdated and I need to purchase the software. Problem is, this is NOT a trial version of the software.Just for my own sanity, I did download the "Trial Version" of PowerDVD 22 from the Cyberlink website, and my blu-ray discs play fine ... HOWEVER it IS a 30-day trial version and says so from the get go.I'm on the verge of packing this unit back up and returning to Amazon for refund ... considering that both LG and Cyberlink are blaming the seller that packaged the bundle with outdated software. Such a shame, because again ... the drive itself is working fine!

A great help since many computer cases don't have optical drive space
This external drive is a great help since many computer cases no longer have space or support for internal optical drives.
