Awesome! No more Worrying about Temps in Basement and Garage
I have large thermometers in the unfinished part of the basement and the garage, but during the last deep freeze, I was worried about pipes freezing so I needed to check them several times a day. I thought there must be a better way and Accurite provided it. This is an awesome system if there are places in your house that it's important to monitor the temperature. With three sensors and the base unit, you have four areas that can be monitored. The sensors can even be place outside and alarms for temperature and humidity can be set for each sensor. I have the base unit on my nightstand and can see at a glance the garage, screened porch, and unfinished basement temperatures. I set an alarm for the basement if the temperature goes below a certain temperature. The setup and installation is easy. The only thing that the instructions weren't clear on was you have to set a switch under the sensor batteries to correspond to the correct place on the base unit. But that's easy once you understand it. As soon as I placed the sensors, the base unit began picking up the temperature and humidity. The only down side for me is I wish you could add more sensors but it's a useful system that keeps me informed without running up and down the basement stairs to check the thermometer, especially during the freezing nights.

Works great for my needs
This home temperature monitoring station fit my needs almost perfectly. I wanted to be able to monitor temperature and humidity all around my house. Upon opening and setting system up, I found the process pretty simple by following the included instructions. The display takes 3 AAA batteries for a backup so settings aren't lost if power is lost. Each remote sensor takes 2 AA batteries. I had no problems with pairing or naming each sensor with the limited names provided. I was able to place the sensors every where from my attic to my basement and they remained connected to the display with no issues. I do wish the temperature and humidity was displayed on the sensors themselves, but not a big deal. I didn't place any sensors outside, but the weather prediction part of the screen still appears to work. The display showed precipitation was likely which was accurate. One thing I don't like about the display is the auto dimming backlight feature. Auto dimming works off of preset time, that can't be changed as far as I know, instead of a sensor that tells the display to be brighter or dimmer. Also the auto dimming range goes from 100% brightness during the day, down to 30% at night. Manually the backlight can be set to 100, 60 or 30% with no option for completely off. I found the 30% to still be very bright and lights up my whole living room at night. With that said, it does appear that the temperatures displayed are all accurate as they showed the same as other temperature guages I own. I'm not as sure if the humidity is accurate, but they were all displaying almost the same number prior to moving them to various parts of the house. So they were at least agreeing with themselves. After moving the sensors, humidity and temperatures changed. So I give this station a 5/5 even with a couple short comings that I found it has.

I like it a lot, AFTER my unconventional work-around
I bought this weather station as a replacement for my 10-year-old, oldie-but-goodie, LaCrosse WS-7017U-IT weather station, which recently had another of its remote sensors die. Those sensors are completely unavailable for purchase any more. This AcuRite Multi-Room Weather Station looked like a reasonable replacement. I am quite happy with it, but I have had to make some changes to make it usable for me.First its Pros, then the Cons, and what work-arounds I have had to do.PROs:• The three remotes seem to be working well. Even the one I have powered with AA Lithium batteries and placed in my chest freezer.• The setup and operating instructions and the display interface are much better and more logical than on my old unit.• It looks like if one remote goes dead due to old batteries, or other reason, I will be able to reconnect it to the central unit without taking the batteries out of EVERYTHING and starting from scratch.• I am able to calibrate the remotes using a known-accurate glass thermometer as a base. And happily they are quite close without further calibration anyway.• It keeps a record of daily highs and lows, as well as all-time highs and lows.• It has backup batteries to keep the configuration and recorded data from getting lost during a power outage.• The display is bright and easy to read (as long as you don’t try to view it from a low angle)CONS: Only one. And this was almost a deal-breaker for me until I figured out a work-around.The display only has high, medium and low brightness settings. No OFF or Temporarily-ON setting. I have the central display unit on my bedside table. It is unacceptable to me to have the display on (even at the “dim” strength) when I’m trying to sleep. However, if I unplug the unit from house power, the display lights go off but the backup batteries keep everything running internally. I then have the option of pushing a convenient button on the top of the display to turn on its lights for a few seconds. And that is exactly the mode of operation I want. Because I’m well aware that the backup batteries won’t last indefinitely, I purchased the Lenink Adjustable AC Power Supply Adapter for 2 AAA 3 AAA 4 AAA Batteries, which is available on the Amazon site for a very reasonable price. This allowed me to remote my backup power from the batteries to a 4.5VDC plug-in power supply. I realize this is not the standard mode of operation, but it seems to be working flawlessly. If I need to see the temp in my room or of any remote in the middle of the night, I push the button that’s located on the top of the display (like a snooze button would be) and I can read the lighted display for several seconds. If I want to have the display on constantly during the daytime, I have an in-line ON/OFF switch with which I can reconnect the main power supply. Yes, the unit runs fine with the main power supply and the one I set up for the backup batteries both connected at once.

Works Perfectly!
After returning a worthless model from Lacrosse, I ordered this and was amazed at its accuracy. We’re using it to monitor temps under our skirted RV for the winter and in the utility compartment where our water connections are. Suits our needs perfectly, love having all four temps easily visible at all times. Just be aware that the LCD display does having viewing angle restrictions. Vertically, you must be looking at it straight on or from slightly above or the numbers get washed out and disappear. Horizontally, the viewing angle isn’t bad but it’s still limited. This unit could be made perfect with a different type of display visible from any angle and internet/app connectivity that allows you to view temps remotely.

Great product. A bit tricky to setup. Wish there was a battery gauge for the main unit.
