Q: What is the base size? It does not look like it fits in a standard socket, but you do not mention the base size? And what is the CRI, how can you no

I have tried the 45w, 85w and 105w versions of this bulb and all of them have a standard screw in base that fits any normal light socket you would use for a normal 60w incandescent bulb. That said, once you get past the actual screw in part of the base, these bulbs are significantly larger than thier incandescent counterparts. The would work fine in a bare socket you might find in a garage or basement but if you want to put them into any kind of covered fixture or lamp the size may be an issue as the ballasts and the lamp itself are quite a bit larger than a regular incandescent bulb.

Q: What is the CRI of these lamps? Also, why do manufacturers so often leave the CRI out of the specs?

I didn't think I had the answer - but, I found a photograph I had taken to show the bulbs were not as described and the paperwork shows CFL 6500K - that was NOT the reason I returned them ... I returned them because of the size being bigger than stated. not sure if CRI and CFL is same might not answer your questions - sorry

I use the 85W lights individually, for taking stills. You might contact LimoStudio online at www.limostudio.com/. There is some customer feedback there you will be interested in. The 85W bulbs are about 1 foot long, and have a base that is 3.5" in diameter and about the same in length. They might be too large in diameter to fit together so closely...that is just my Eyeball Estimate (EE). Good Luck!
